Good for its value of 25 pounds lunch.
Definitely coming back again.

This restaurant is rather tired in all respects. The decor, minimalistic at best, used to be crisp and clean: no longer. The food, served in the past with a little enthusiasm, now comes looking limp and now tastes rather limp too. The price would be acceptable if only the atmosphere, decor and food were of the quality that they were some years ago: now the price is unacceptable for what you get. The salmon sashimi was fine, as was the mixed sashimi but the beef and chicken teriyaki were lukewarm (they used to be delivered to the table served on hot griddles but now come on cold westernised plates) and were accompanied by salads that had probably been waiting around for too long. The restaurant was fairly empty which did not offer any excuses for the less than efficient service. The lack of clients was either because it was a Monday or because others have had the same mediocre experience as we had. It is not an experience that I shall repeat unless and until I read consistently better reviews.

I had lunch at this resaurant today. The food was excellent - no denying that. The ambience was something to be desired though. We sat downstairs at a table. The room was somewhat boring. We waited for some time just to get a drink order. Once someone came over the service was polite and helpful. Overall, I need more than just good food so I would rate this venue poorly but I think it was quite authentic and the food very nicely presented. Its just too bad about the atmosphere. Overall, a bit too pricey given what you get, for my taste.

Went to Miyama last night with a friend as we were looking for sushi and I had heard about this place.
Managed to squeeze into the end of the sushi bar and was recommended by a helpful chap who regularly attends with his Japanese wife - thank you for the kind steer - to go for the all in special.
I am an absolute novice and although I have been before, always with somoene who ordered for us. I am lucky in that I am allergic to nothing and love everything.
Well, we weren't disappointed. We filled our boots until we could eat no more and thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful food.
I cannot tell you how authentic it is, nor how accurate/impeccable the presentation, but I can tell you the quality fo the food was superb.
Although the place could do with a lick of paint, the service was excellent and very friendly indeed.
I am already planning my return.

I've been eating here practically once a week since the middle of June - and I can tell you I've not had a bad meal yet. The Sushi (particularly the O toro - fatty tuna) is some of the best that I've tasted outside of Japan. The tempura is done perfectly every time - not greasy. The teppan-yaki is always wonderful and unlike some Japanese restaurants in London you walk away feeling full instead of thinking how expensive it was for so little food (However word of caution its not cheap but it is definitely worth it)!

Quality food, fresh sushi and sashimi, obviously well prepared and very very good soft shell crab. Good service, pleasant and attentive. However, it loses its appeal when you are eating it in a basement which doesn't appear to have been updated since 1986, except for some reasonably nice artwork. It could be a great place to take clients but is in desperate need of updating.

I took my boyfriend here for dinner for his birthday and it was stunning! We both had a Teppanyaki course which was pricy but very good value for money. I would recommend sharing a course as we both battled to finish it all. Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was good.
