I regularly go to ha Long Bay for lunch and am always extremely pleased with my food, whatever I order. The salads/noodle salads and phos are excellent, stuffed full of fresh veg and herbs. It is good value, though I would like them to do a few more cheap lunch options. Perhaps this would also encourage others to go as it usually fairly empty compared to other local, inferior options.

Anyway I highly recommend this place.

Ha Long is far out and it just raised the game in Wood Green N22 London and the sea bass , the soup and the green papaya salad is amazing and to die for !! What a way to go. The service is great. Its still a secret and a lot of people have bad memories of the last management but the new folks are vietnamese and know their stuff.

It would be a shame if not enough punters go there as we would have lost a place where not just good food but great food at great value would be lost. For the frugal the £5 flat noodle soup with beef/chicken/veg is fantastic value for money as it is huge and comes in a bowl the size of a bucket and fresh ingredients and in a clear consomme that is filling and extremely healthy. There is loads more and the menu is extensive.

Oh and lots of freshly squeezed fruit juices.

i went in ha long bay with my work mate to try out the food under new management after the disappointment from saigon top chef. i was suprise for the quality of the food and the service after they changed management. i'm a big fan of vietnamese food but to go all the way to kingsland road where the food quality is good but not up to standard service is not worth it. i am going to make ha long bay my local from now and would recomend it to anybody who is in love with vietnamese food

i went in the restaurant searching for a nice meal. So i thought i might as well eat some noodles. I ate the noodles and they were delicious. The only complaint i had was with one girl, i notice that she tried to avoid me while i tried to place a order. the frustraution was too much to bear. overall the experience is good.

I've eaten at Ha Long Bay three times now, and have enjoyed my meal on each occasion.

Admittedly the service can be a little shambolic - you may find yourself on the receiving end of someone else's order - but the food still arrives in good time. The food itself is delicious, and is a nice change from traditional Chinese restaurants. The menu caters for a wide range of tastes, from 'safe' dishes such as sweet and sour chicken to more adventurous dishes such as eel. There is also a great range of vegetarian options, and although I am generally not a tofu fan, I could eat the fried tofu in their food every day! Portion size is fantastic, especially for the price.

The one complaint I would make is that, on one occasion, something I ordered was not fantastically warm. However, the waiter was more than willing to reheat the meal when asked.

Went there on Bon Fire night 2009 and the service and everything was rubbish. we waited for 30 mins after we ordered before the glass of tap water arrived and thats even after we went and attempted to chase it up despite it was already 21:00 and there weren't many customers around.

after a while 3-4 tables ahead of me left as they had been waited for even longer. Even my girlfriend was getting furious about how slow they were cooking and serving, specially when we didn't order that much. (like a bowl of pho, rice and a side dish)

took us just over 2 hours to finish eating since we only got our food 90 mins after we ordered. the overall experience is not good.

NOTE. I suspect one of the manager's friend was there with their family to have dinner, so the restaurant was serving all nicely for them and neglected all other customers. We were pretty much put aside. I even saw all their dishes getting lined up, ready to serve 'his friends' nicely all at once while i went to see when will my tap water be served.

Comment on food and price: i'd say the taste is ok-good and the price was relatively cheap in comparison, but for something that needed to wait for that long, it's totally not worth it.
