I have just returned from One Moorgate Place having had lunch with my husband. I had been a number of times previously when it was still Esca but not to One Moorgate Place.
When we arrived at 1230 it was still fairly empty and we were offered a choice of places to sit. Very spacious table with comfortable chairs, elegant yet comfortable restaurant.
We were attended to immediately and a choice of bread was offered. We had raisin bread and granary bread both were dense and full of taste and flavour.
We both started with roasted duck breast with fig and black pepper which tasted amazing and was presented beautifully. This was then followed by Fish and Chips (I am not sure if they are on the menu but they are available in the restaurant on Fridays.) They arrived beautifully presented in a miniature chip frying basket. We both love fish and chips and know that really good ones are not that easy to find in London but believe me, the ones at One Moorgate Place are outstanding. The fish (today it was cod but it changes) was firm and full of flavour, the batter delicous crispy and not at all soggy. The chips tasted amazing. Tartar sauce and mushy peas also divine. All accompanied by two chilled glasses of Pouilly Fume.
We had to pass on the sweet course as the portions are big and ended with two double expressoso delicious biscotti.
The service throughout the meal was very attentive, efficient and friendly.
A wonderful lunch we definitely will be back.

I visited this restaurant on 8 July 2010 around 1.40pm hoping to try their 30 mins gurantee two course menu.
There were only about 4-5 tables serving food when I arrived and the restaurant was huge with comfortable chairs. I ordered the three course menu as I only have an hour lunch. 5mins after I've ordered the food around 1.45pm - I have been told that the entre was not available and that I should to order another which I did. The starter has been served but it was very oily and a bit cold...
About around 2.15pm, I've been told that the main that I've ordered is no longer available and that I should choose another one.. I then asked if its possible for me to take it away as I was really hungry but I was not able to wait for another 30 mins due to work commitment. I was then been told that it was not possible and I either wait for the food or can leave without paying for my starter.
To be honest, I was really disappointed with a restaurant not able to fulfil its advertising logo and wasting the customer valuable lunch hour. I hope no one else has to go through what I have gone through but I would actually recommend any professional people do not give them a try cause the service that I received was really aweful.
