Bakko

I live 5 minutes from Bakko and It is a fine eatery. Wether you travel 50 miles or 2 miles from N11 you will not find better food. A must if your in the area!

My wife and I come regularly to what can only be called the best restaurant in Muswell Hill. We are treated with respect by a very friendly owner (Charlie) who always goes the extra mile to make us welcome. We have done it all here, birhdays, mothers day, fathers day, valentines day and anniversaries - our fist anniversary dinner in 2001 was accompanied by a complimentary bottle of Champagne and an anniversary card signed by all the staff.

The food is of excellent quality, the mixed grill, my favourite. We usually order a number of starters to get us going as we can never make up our mind.

normally a good choice of deserts, occassionally not all on offer.

Good value, i don't think we have ever spent over £70 for the two of us and when ten of us went the bill was under £200.

My girlfriend and I had been debating trying this place for many months but tonight we decided to go for it.............and we are certainly glad we did!! The service was very good and the food absolutely delicious. Considering we both had 3 courses each and alcoholic drinks, the final bill proved very reasonable.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Bakke to any potential customer!!

My Fiancee and I agree with David 'the bear' Morfords review of this wonderfull little restaurant in Muswell Hill. Although no restaurant can ever be 100% great every time this one comes pretty close. The service is generally good, however grumpy waiters have been known and one disapointment is that the excellent set menu price has gone up recently. Apart from these minor gripes we recommend a visit to see for yourselves.

My girlfriend & I have been to Bakko about 10 times now. We absolutely love it; it is our favourite restaurant. The food is gorgeous, the atmosphere great, the decor authentic, the service attentive and the prices brilliant.

We normally order 6 starters between us and then have a main course, a dessert and a tea/coffee each. All that together with about 4-5 drinks each and the bill normally comes to about £70 - that really is fantastic value for money.

It would be unfair to say we have never had a bad meal, because it's always so much better than that.

As we are regulars, the staff really look after us and seem to genuinely really appreciate our custom. To us, this enhances the overall experience of the visit.

As a recommendation, try lamb cutlets as a main course. They are the best I have ever had in any Greek/Turkish restaurant anywhere in the world!

We live in Stevenage, Herts and think nothing of the 25 mile trip to go to Bakko.

Plenty of people we know in Stevenage are intending to go as a result of our constant eulogising about the place.

Having read the other reviews, I can't believe other people don't think it's as good as we do.

Give the place a try, it really is a good as I describe and believe me, I am a very fussy diner.

A restaurant that is 100% non-smoking, even if the food was bad (which it certainly is not) it is worth going just to be in a smoke free place.

Quick service, freindly feel, fresh food and reasonably priced what more do you need.

Six of us went to Bakko on the back of the reviews on this website.

I have to say that we were very disappointed. The food was ordinary at best, with the sea bass overcooked, the Kleftico raw in the middle (and cold) and the other dishes most uninspiring. We also felt that the portions were a bit on the small side.

The apparent owner of the restaurant seemed to try hard to please whilst the waitresses all seemed to be pretty hopeless.

We also felt it to be fairly pricey, when compared to other Turkish restaurants.

I suggest that the good residnets of N10 get out a bit more and try similar restaurants out of their area as they are a lot better and a lot cheaper.

I have to say that I totally cohere with Stewart Morris on this one regardless of what other people say here! I have been to Bakko about four times in the last few months but last night kind of put me and my girlfriend off. While the food is undoubtably really good, the service is just too full-on and each time I have eaten there I have found myself to be badgered by the waiters. Last night one particularly grumpy waiter was desperate for us to order our main course before the kitchen shut at 1030pm when it was only 930pm and the restaurant wasn't even half full. The rest of the time we dealt with him [which was often] he was terribly negative.

We'll probably go back at some point, but ironic as it may seem, the service is just too attentive to the point of being annoying. Multiple waiters visited our table when we'd aleady given another our order, and we had to tell them to go away literally every five minutes.

Wonderful restaurant - me and my wife go regularly now - and it is clearly the best option in the Muswell Hill area. Turkish food that melts in the mouth, slow cooked and lightly spiced - to die for! The staff are also very funny and very attentive. It is particularly nice on a summer evening here as they open the front facade giving a continental feel. The food here is not expensive, and the set menu option is recommended as great value. We love it so much we had our wedding reception here (and got free champagne!).
