A group of sixteen of us went here on saturday night for a celebration. Because it was a big group we preordered our food several days in advance in order to make service for them easier. The starters arrived reasonably quickly and were of a good standard, although no bread was offered even for those ordering soup. The drinks were painfully slow to come, we waited about 30 minutes for five cokes to arrive and the water never did arrive.

After our starters were cleared we waited 50 minutes beforre the first main course arrived, which was a grilled lump of chicken breast with a few chips, the bed of roasted vegetables which was described on the menu was nowhere to be seen, on complaining we were provided with a dish of steamed vegetables which arrived after we had finished eating. The seafood medley was cold and dried out, and the wasabi mashed potato was lumpy and tasteless. Two of our guests only got their meal after most of us had finished.

When we complained we were told very brusquely that it was a busy night and they were short staffed, When I asked why they were still taking walk in customers if they couldn't cope with this amount of business the waitress told me I should understand their problems.

We left without having dessert or coffee, and although they took a significant amount off of the bill, at no point did anybody apologise for our spoilt evening, in fact as we left the manageress told me I was rude and my daughter and her boyfriend never to come back. We were never rude or abusive at any point during the evening so this was completely uncalled for.

This restaurant clearly cannot manage large groups at one time particuarly at tthe weekends so would not reccoment you come here with any large parties.

This was a pleasant occasion in which my cousins from south africa visited , knowing their love for seafood and living in southgate there was only one place to go! It lived up to its expectations is my cousins demolished the best of a meze for 4 , many dips , grilled kalamari and med prawns went down well with a bottle or two of Rioja, thank you Thalassa for this joyous evening , my cousins and i shall return in the nearby future

I went in for my uncles birthday. It was the 12 of us and we had the big table in the corner it was a saturday and they had piano music. The waiter recommended us to go full greek and order the house meze. My cousin who is allergic to fish had a great wild boar meal with caramelised onions and he loved it. Our 1st course arrived with some amazing dips which i can not even describe or name (only by colour :P) Our second course was on its way with some 'hot flavours fresh from the sea of cyprus' as our waiter joked to my suprise this was amazing..... this night was looking good we had just finished our 2nd course and the waiter offered us ouzo which is a greek aperitif and can be mixed with water and ice , well after having our drink our 3rd course was ready for us we had some lovely grilled fish which was cooked to perfection and was sided by fresh greek salad and some lovely fries.

Well to be honest i was really thoughtfull of this visit as we have been to alot of greek restaurants in the area and this the first time that we did not need to worry about hygiene as the place was spotless nor did we need to worry that because of being a saturday the waiters or the owners will rush us out to get a second seating.

I can recommend this place as we had a wonderfull time and will go back for sure...

P.S stef i believe you were next door in the kebab shop

I went there with my family and guests over from South London after I suggested we have our Sunday lunch here. I never felt more embaresed in my life. The food was mediocre, they have brought the wrong dish to my son, the amount of food for mezedes was so little I restrained myself from eating so our guests don't go home hungry. The calamari was so hard and the plate had more flour that calamari (and I thought I don't know to cook calamari). Atmosphere was dull because they only had a couple of tables. You will be better off at the Red Papers in Cockfosters. My Company that I work for told us that they agreed with Thalassa to give us a 10% discount so that they get some business through the dorr. When we were about to pay the arrogant manager was in denial and so stingy! When your restaurant is empty well then this is not the best to increase your customer base. Will never go there again, nor would I recommend this place to anyone! Awful too expensive for what they offer.

A group of us went on Saturday evening. It was not an enjoyable night!

There seemed to be zero attention to detail, nobody told us the dishes that had run out, we hade to beg for our wine to be bought to the table. Then the waiter got two of our mains wrong and missed one completely.

When we called him over he rudely told us we must have ordered incorrectly! No apologies or anything. We later found out he was the owner which basically is probably the big problem with this place.

Never again....

Went to the restaurant last night and thought it was absolutely wonderful. We had the Fish meze and in terms of quality and quantity we got more than our money's worth. The fish tastes fresh and flavorsome comparable to that served when you dine in coastal towns. The scallops and the langoustines were my highlights! All in all the service was really good too, very lovely people. Shall be going again.

Saturday night - sat down at 8.30pm and order not taken 'til 9.15pm by which time every single 'special of the day' that we requested had finished. Our request for a dozen oysters (which are on the menu) did not arrive and when we asked we were met with 'the chef didn't like the look of them so did not want to serve them' which is fair enough but at least tell us. The starter of fish soup was very good but the clam starter (of which there were very few) was swimming in garlic butter and not even a roll or bread in sight to mop this up with. The mains (which didn't turn up until after 10.30pm) of whole lobster were very mediocre the the other mains of monkfish seemed as if they were pre-frozen. I was too ashamed to ask! We presumed that the offer of an 'after dinner liquer' was due to the fact that we had a large drinks bill but when requested an ameretto we were told that they had run out! All in all, the service was dreadful, the food was very average and recommend this place is left to the regulars of Southgate!

What a fabulous restaurant!

Had a superb meal here with the family for my mums birthday on Sunday. We all opted for the fish meze which was recommended to us by our waiter so we could have a bit of everything!

The food came in abundance, we had oysters, large prawns, grilled squid platters of different fish...we ordered lobster as an extra treat as you can build your meze to whatever you want & just pay the difference.

After the meal we all had a dessert and ordered something different so we could try everything on the menu...I won with the chocolate mousse...absolutely delicious! They gave us all a small pot of lemon sorbet to refresh our mouthes which we thought was a nice touch, they definately know what they're doing here, long may they continue!
