I visited Juniper with my wife and daughter last Friday evening. We had a fun time. The service was welcoming, friendly and efficient. The food was really tasty and portion sizes good too so excellent value for money, I tried everyone else's meals and would happily have ordered any of them. And the lemon tart was to die for. A first class local diner!

I went with my family for Sunday lunch. The service was just right, welcoming and friendly. The mains were hearty and tasty with what we all agreed were the best roast potatoes we’ve had in ages. It was all perfectly accompanied by a very nice bottle from the wine list. An enjoyable experience, we will definitely go back.

Had one of the best Sunday roasts I've had in a long time - definately the best gravy!

Really good find - definately one to recommend.

My girlfriend and I visited Juniper the other night which was a very pleasant surprise! The service and atmosphere were impeccable and not too intrusive while still being friendly (a rarity these days!). The food was the best we have had in a long while, good hearty fare excellently prepared and generously served. We had the fishcakes and the beef bourgignon which were (we think) faultless, and I have to agree with the other reviews about the house red... very, very nice indeed.

Thoroughly recommended if you are in or near Highbury!

We went to Juniper dining one Friday evening, and loved it!

We arrived at 18pm with 2 children (one is just 1 year old) and went to seat in the back area, next to the fire place.

I had the goats cheese salad, and my husband the special starter (steamed seafood plater). Both the starters were spot on.

We then ordered the mushroom risotto for the children, I had the boeuf bourguignon, and the seabass for my husband. The kids absolutly loved the risotto, moist to perfection. I myself finished my plate to the last bit.

Even if we were feeling pretty full by then, I couldn't resist having the lemon tart, and wasn't disapointed.

The pastry was so lovely and thin, topped with a fantasticly smooth lemon curd.

The wine was recommended by the very experienced waitress, and she knew exactly what I was looking for.

I would recommend Juniper Dining to any family who wish to have a nice night out!

Visited Juniper last night with some girlfriends and its a really lovely neighbourhood restaurant.

I had the house red which was by far the best house red I've ever had - just absolutely a dream to drink. The service was great and the chef came out to our table to go through the specials and answer any questions (I am pregnant so was worried about a couple of things on the menu that I might not be able to have...)

The food was very good and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had prawn cocktail (I'm a retro girl!) followed by the beef bourgignon and then the lemon tart - all were excellent.

Can really recommend this restaurant - well worth a visit and pretty reasonably priced too!

My friends and I decided to give this newcomer in the Highbury area a go last night. We were very impressed with the quality of the food as well as the really decent and reasonable wine list . My duck main - a very generous portion including a melting confit of leg as well as half a breast served beautifully pink and tender - was awesome. My friends had the lamb shank , the beef bourguignon and the thai vegetable curry - they were equally ecstatic about their food. The starters were simple, fresh and beautifully executed, the puddings - we shared the chocolate pudding and lemon tart as we were too full to have a pudding each - were exactly as they should be: an oozy chocolate pudding and a creamy and tangy lemon tart with a light base. We cannot wait to go back and try all the dishes we did not get to try especially the pork belly! For all you foodies out there - this is a must try. 26/11/2009

I'm so pleased this place has opened just up the road from us. We visited on Monday night, and had five courses between the two of us, plus four glasses of wine which came to approx £50. My pork belly main was superb, the only critique being the crackling could have been a little cracklier. My husband has the beef bourgignon and foie gras parfait, both of which he enjoyed a lot. For dessert we shared a chocolate fondant which was the perfect combination of cakey on the outside and gooey in the middle, whilst being so rich we both got a bit hyper. The specials board was extensive and well-rounded and there really does seem to be a dish for everyone there. Gorgeous, can't wait to go back.

My brother and I went back (for our second time!) on monday and had the early bird menu that's served all night on a monday, all the choices were taken off the main menu so we were really happy that we could have the crispy belly pork again, which I think I am now addicted too. I agree with the other review that there's a great house red that's reasonably priced! Good service and really pleased this restaurant has opened so near by to us in highbury!
