TimeOut

Charmaine Mok - 3/5

Monday, December 21, 2009 - Top-quality ingredients are used for the ice creams - organic eggs, full-fat milk and no artificial colourings or flavourings...Pistachio gelato (dotted with whole nuts, a nice touch) was spot on – the richness of the pistachios simply sang. The warm interiors and slightly old-fashioned decor is a change from the ultra-modish gelaterias and frozen yoghurt shops as of late. Amorino is actually the first British branch of a chain that has already 30-plus outlets in Paris. For now, at least, it feels like one of a kind.

I'm a French food photographer London based having shot books on ice cream, gone to Italy, research ice cream subject etc... Amorino is definitely the best ! No question and I had few ice creams in my time ! They have 4 chocolate on choice not just one. All the ingredients are from the best possible country producing it from mango to coffee to melon etc...

PS I have to say I had as well amazing pistachio in San Geminiano, Strawberry in Rome and chocolate in Venice as well which were pretty awesome !

I just hope they are going to open more around London like they did in France !

Grossly over-rated place. £3.30 for a small ice-cream, and an excruciatingly long wait while the po-faced staff member (quite unnecessarily) shaped it into a rose. The vanilla ice-cream was just about OK but a long way from the best I've had in London. Avoid.

extremely nice ice cream, but the limited choice its disapponting, I wish they had the whole range of flavours as in Paris! Still we have to take the eurostar to have the nicest flavours as amaretto, crema and the lots. I am looking forward for a large choice in london: we cant just stick on the few they sell here :)

My friend had a gift from Amorino, gave me the first taste of it was fantastic and I went there with few other friend after dinner on 16th, March, 2010.

The ice creams flavor were fabulous, and this small store full of surprise, but the girl who served us was absolutely arrogent and non professional. It is such a shame such nice place but have most awful service I ever had!

She greeting us with no smile and very rudely reply our request and keep push me to make decision even with no one behind of us. She insist me to follow what the way they order which must choose size of cup then order, but the store does set up to order that way.....She just very strictly with poker face say to me "This is the way we work!"

When I started to get very irritated, and and other customer was saying got the same treatment from her as well!

How disappointed with such beautiful food, but with wrong person to serve! As recession gioing on, so many people with good customer service skill, why she deserve to work such nice place and I have to pay for it??

went here after a cracking night of burgers and milkshakes at the new byron on wardour st (highly recommended btw). probably didn't need more food at that stage but had read the review in timeout and thought we would give it a try for dessert. the place does look good and the ice-cream was high quality. the pistachio is as good as timeout said. however the service was rude rude rude, maybe cos it was late and they were tired and ready to go home but its still no excuse to be so stroppy and surly to paying customers. its also quite pricey but hey this is soho i guess. sort out your staff amorino and we will be back.

By far, the best ice-creams I have experienced in London !!!!!!!!!!!!

Chocolate and pistachio are my favourite flavours. Can't wait to test their Tiramisu and Amaretto.

The atmosphere is great. Service is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. The Italian experience really feels genuine.

A winner across the board.

I went to Amorino this week-end and I have to say it was amazing!

The flavour are so tasty, the ice cream in a rose shape very beautiful and the staff are extremly nice and smiling.

They have a large choice of Chocolates range, sweets, nougat...Everything seems succulent but I need to come back to taste each single sweets.

I have finally found my favorite ice cream shop in London.
