Il Cantuccio di Pulcinella

I am Neapolitan and I think the restaurant is really good. The pizza's are cooked in a wood burning oven. They use real Mozzarrella buffalo cheese. Pizza metro restaurant(also in Clapham) used to be good when the original staff were there, but now it is overpriced and in consistent.

This restaurant gives you a good atmosphere too

This use to be my favourite local restaurant, it has now gone so far downhill, poor quality food, served tepid poor quality house wine and indifferent service, I wasn't even asked whether I wanted dessert the evening I was there. Such a shame.

The only starter we were offered was a dried up buffet, that looked like it had been out ALL DAY.

There were only 3 bottles of wine on the menu

Main course was really poor, I left most of mine.

Atmosphere was non existent

We got out as fast as we could.

Really disappointed, would never go again! Even the people next to us who had Pizza were complaining!

I live locally and used to be a massive fan of this place. However it has definitely gone downhill recently. Little touches like no more complementary bruschetta or even limoncella, but also bigger things such as risotto being undercooked (chewy rice), being ignored while waiting to order, etc.

I don't know what's changed - maybe it's got complacent. I'm sure it can get better though, it just needs to concentrate a bit more.

Went there last night with my sisters and had a lovely evening. Friendly atmosphere and the food overall was good. Although, I thought the amount of mussels I had for my main course was very small - but they were delicious. One of my sisters had a sausage and spinach dish and I must admit the sausage did look slightly anaemic and was not very appertising. But the selection of starters were gorgeous.

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. My boyfriend took me to this restaurant for our first date one year ago yesterday...so he took me back there last night, The food is fabulous melt in the mouth real traditional Italian cooking, the staff are really attentive and cant do enough to help you and they smile while they do it! We both shared a plate of antipasti for starter which was delicious and we both ate shell fish for main, the muscles where divine and the lobster was cooked to perfection and really tasty. £57 for two with a bottle of wine is a bargain! Its not the flashyist restaurant but the staff and the food make Cantuccio's what it is.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone whose loves Italian food, you wont be let down....

I had Gnocchi with 'zesty tomato sauce and mozzarella' - it was AMAZING. So, so tasty, I could not stop eating it. My companion's Carbonara was delicious as well. Nice atmosphere - the wood burning fire is such a nice touch and good, friendly service. The serve yourself bar is also an interesting change from your usual restaurants.

There is no finer nor better Italian Pizzeria then this in the south of England and nothing to touch it in London. I have taken guests and family here, dozens of times in the past year and it is consistantly of a very high standard both in terms of the service and qality of food.

If you haven't been here try it NOW yo will be delghted
