what the critics say

Wednesday, June 23, 2010 - Food is served to everyone at once and we've no idea what we're getting, giving the impression we're on a vast, noisy plane. It's up there quality-wise too, by which I mean it comes in teeny portions, in curious containers and tastes of cardboard and plastic...The supremely irritating website tells us food at Supperclub 'deliberately humiliates cooking dogmas'. You said it, buster. In case we should become ennuied, trannies and semi-clad girls chat us up in a vague, we're-being-paid-for-this way. A random dog wanders around. The whole thing is like a bad disco in Rimini sponsored by Rennie.

Friday, February 05, 2010 - A celeriac and apple soup with chestnut chunks arrived in small Kilner jars, stylish, lemony and buttery. It was nice, but it struck me that 45 quid for four courses was steep, when one course couldn't have cost more than 25p to make. Am I being mean? We did get a lot of art, gratis. There arrived some lamb loin, very pink and inviting, soft, extremely edible. The gravy was cocoa, though the evidence of this was mainly in a sprinkling...It's not great, in other words, but of course you don't go for the food.

A group of friends and I went down to Supperclub for a good night out and it definitely didn't fail to disappoint!! It completely filled expectations and we didn't want to leave! Everything from the staff, drinks, food, setting, entertainment was amazing wanting you hungry for more. It is such a unique club with and really did create some amazing memorable experiences. Definitely head to Supperclub for a night out if you'relooking for something different and special!

Very disappointing.

My friends and I decided to go here for a last night out before I got married a few weeks ago. I'd had a big hen do but this was a last send off. They were informed of this via email and said they'd do something special but they didn't- I saw other groups getting cocktails with those firey sparklers too. Bit annoying that we were ignored.

I love the fantasy and performance idea- we've been to the Amsterdam one and that was fab. Performance here was good and a novelty but the employees are so far up their own **** that it's just reeks of pretention.

What really made me angry was that after the food was finished being served (interesting but nothing like as good as the Amsterdam one) everyone got their bills. We were ignored. As the room started to fill up with the customers who'd come for the club part of the evening, the waiters were rushed off their feet and took us half an hour to get one to sort us out. Then the credit card machine didn't work. For 2 hours they tried again and again, first at our bed, then in the cloak room. I know if it's not working what can you do? But no one offered us free drinks (although the manager offered one model looking girl a drink when the same thing happened to her)

I was stood in the cloak room with drunk people barging past me while the waiter then went off (FOR HALF AN HOUR) to try our card on a machine upstairs. We couldn't move as we just had to wait for him. Some of my party were outside and some still at the bed waiting for me, I couldn't leave the cloakroom in case the waiter came back. Unbelievably bad customer service. I was getting madder and madder as this was my last night out before the wedding and meant to be special. We had tickets to go onto a club and we needed to leave.

It was 1 am by the time the waiter came back and I was so angry I asked to see the manager. My brother had gone to get cash so we paid them but even after asking for a discount, they only would take off the service. I told the manager he'd ruined our night as everyone had lost their buzz and were just fed up and tired with the booze wearing off and having waited for 2 hours. We couldn't go on to the club we had tickets for as it was too late to get in. I couldn't believe it when the manager turned around and said 'Oh come on, we haven't ruined your night!' Who exactly is he to say whether he's ruined our night or not? I think it's up to us how we feel?

This place is obnoxious, rude and run by pretentious idiots who think they are above their customers. I would never go again. So disappointed as I was really looking forward to a night of exciting and interesting performance with dinner, and hoped to be made to feel a little special too- no chance of this.

The other thing that bothered me is that my brother is in a wheel chair. They seemed overly cautious about everything he did- probably worried about a law suit. He is extremely independent and stairs etc don't bother him, yet even after we said this, they made us sit downstairs and made him smoke outside on his own- we weren't allowed to go with him. I think they were so worried about offending us, they actually did in the end- I think this is why they didn't come over with the bill, they thought they'd let us have the table after dinner (usually you have to spend a minimum amount of drink to keep it). We had said in our confirmation email we didn't want to keep it as moving on to the club, but they seemed to think we did want to keep it- yet never came over for table service.

Altogether very odd. Not impressed at all. They didn't even try to placate us or rectify the situation once it had gone wrong. My brother actually works for a very well known TV station who does documentaries and this could very well spark off an idea for a new one on how terrible customer service in this country can be.

Had an invite birthday party, never heard of the place before and the website wasn't very helpful. Firstly we were put in a bar which was pretty full then the walls opened on to a huge white room - amazing.

Sat on a huge bed, watched crazy/weird shows whilst eating. Be careful, there is no menu, everyone has the same, no choice! Service was ok and the staff friendly enough. The menu was good value for 4 courses and the drinks a bit pricey because they only do doubles. Boy, we loved it.

A very different night out.

Went to the one in Amsterdam in 2009. Didn't think the London one would be that good but actually I preferred it. Really enjoyed the acts, the food and the cocktails were great!

The host for the night, Paulie was awesome too.

The service was different as in there is no menu and you get asked for allergies but not what you want! A daring concept to say the least. The food was good but didn't feel that important as I didn't get to choose my dinner. It was mostly a hit with my group but I think they should at least have a choice of two starters, mains and desserts. They try and make up for this with the presentation which was impressive but I feel they must get people complaining. The shows on the other hand were a massive hit with everyone in the building and the acrobat in the ring hanging from the cieling was just amazing.

I would definatley go back for the shows and the club later. The food was good but they would do themselves a big favor by giving a small choice.

I had a blast!

The venue it has to be said is stunning and the concept of the beds was both fun and different. Yes we waited a while for our cocktails to come but that was the only hitch in the whole evening. The food was fantastic (I like to thing myself quite the foodie) and the acts and performances that took place throughout the meal were great. I have been to most of the cabaret restaurants in the west end and this was a much better standard I must say.

Can't wait to return.

It is with great sadness that I have to attend this venue here again tonight (for another birthday) after I was there 2 months ago. The food was blah, the reclining seating is uncomfortable to eat in, the acts are really bad and disturbing (one is a clown with a pig nose, who takes a butt plug (yes you heard me, an S&M butt plug) and its covered in dark brown mess and he starts to lick it off, insinuating its human feces (it was probably chocolate). This is while you are eating. I had to watch a guy simulate taking a butt plug out of his back side, covered in what looks like poo, licking it off, and all while I am trying to eat my dinner. I feel sick at the thought of having to return and honestly feel like cancelling. This act just totally ruined it for me.

Went there last saturday with 5 friends... they had messed up our reservations so instead of sitting on the beds we were sat at a table right in front of the DJ and animations...

This could have been a VIP spot except for the extremely loud music - which cancelled out all attempt to conversation,

Waiters brought in "nibbles" saying it was to apologise for the mix-up in our reservation, except that every table had them so it was actually no gesture on their part...

Food was okay but definitely not worth the £45!! Especially as drinks on the side were pricy, and wanting to keep their concept they present the food "nicely" but in difficult to eat containers...

The show - apart from the acrobats- was way too freaky and weird. At one point two guys in thongs appear and just throw cream, flours and cereals at each other before making "simulacres" of sexual positions... I know this place is alternative but come on, that was really cheap...+ they then spend 30minutes cleaning the floor after that....

Then they kick us off the dance floor for 30mins to set up a pole dancing animation... which never happened!!!! so we were all sitting and waiting... untile they take it back down...

The price would be fine if it included entry to a nice club - but the club actually only costs £10 entry, and the music was TERRIBLE...

Definitely will not be going back there....
