Visited with my boyfriend on our trip to London.
Food was nice but the service was absolutely shocking!! The staff were dressed in casual wear, which i do not think is appropriate. Both members of staff played on their phones throughout the entire time we were there. Also, as we were the last to leave, the staff had the cheek to stand behind the bar with their coats on waiting for us to leave! - bear in mind this was around 10.30, not exactly late!
I would NOT recommend this restaurant!!

I went there with my boyfriend for the first time last week. The food was great, service was ok, atmosphere also great. small little restaurant in London, price is cheaper than London's standard, cannot ask for more.
although we've been waiting for some time to take our order, but understandable, as everywhere trying to cut cost and I can see the staff are trying their best to serve the customer.
I will go back for sure.

I have never been to a resturant will such RUDE staff. I cannot describe how rude they are.firstly when i ordered my food waitress had very bad body language, banging our food down with aggresstion. The thai girl who was assisting us simply looked like she didnt want to be there.she was getting half dressesd right where everyone one was seated. When it came to payment time she asked rudely for a tip! i was horrified with the utter cheek! My buissness accociate asked for an extra mint as hers fell down on the floor and she rufused to give and then said they had run out when we could clearly see some behind the counter.i think they are very lucky because we paid for food and service,
THIS SHOULD NOT BE PUT UP WITH! the manager clearly must have a poor attitiude to let this happen,PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY AT THAI AUBAGINE!

Absolutely shocked and appalled with how rude the waitresses were! Went there with my parents and have never been talked to so rudely before in my life. Made the mistake of ordering chicken wings which were completely inedible, did not make a big deal about this, just mentioned to the waitress that there was not something right about them and she said and I quote 'what do you expect me to do about that?' before scowling and walking off. This set the tone for the rest of the meal, and the staff tried to get us out of there as quickly as possible, was not even offered the dessert menu, they just gave us the bill when they thought we had finished our food without us asking. Food was very well below average for a Thai restaurant in London additionally. Would definitely not recommend nor will I ever be going back there again.

Very mediocre Thai restaurant.
a) Service: average, although they cleaned up our table as soon as we finish, which is quite rude.
b) Food: can do with mediocre service IF food is good. Unfortunately this was not the case either. Fish cakes for start where greasy and tastless. Pork ribs were good though, probably the best of the dinner. We then went for rib-eye steak which was extremely salty, and stir fry beef, which was ok if not too small of a portion. Rice was ordered separately, and although we ordered two portions, was a tiny little serving.
Bill came up to £33 pounds (with two teas) which given the quality and service is NOT cheap at all, nor good quality for money. Fortunately though, we had 50% with Taste London card, so bill was reduced to £19. Not coming back and cannot recommend. Better Thai places for the same money in London.

Rude Rude Rude, we went to Thai Aubergine for the first in quite a long time and oh dear, these Thai girls really have developed an attitude since we last visited. It seems they are no longer happy living in London and want to get back to work in Patpong Road, Bangkok. What a shame, because the decor and food are so fantastic.

We went on the evening of 12th Sept 2011 and the service was absolutely terrible! We were largely ignored for long periods and the waitresses looked disinterested and made rude faces when their backs were turned. We made 2 requests for water, which never came even until we've finished our meal! They took a long time to take our orders and prepare the bill, and we were made to feel very unwelcome. I am not sure if the poor service was due to the fact that we were using a discount card but it ruined the whole dining experience and we will never return again. I advise everyone to avoid having your evening ruined by the terrible disrespect shown by the waitresses in this restaurant.

We booked a table for 11 people for a birthday using our Taste card. When we arrived we encountered problems, our party was split and seated at different ends of the restaurant, the manageress was not too pleased to hear that two people were lost and would be arriving 10 minutes late. The service left a lot to be desired also we were not allowed to surprise the birthday girl with a cake. The food was nice but watch out for the hard lemongrass in the seafood soup.

I've been here twice now and used my Tastecard only once (they don't accept the cards on Fridays) but both times the food has been tasty and filling. My dining partner had to take the rest of his main course home as he was full on the delicious starters (spring rolls & spare ribs).
The staff there have always been pleasant to me and my dining companion and I can only recommend their restaurant.
It's a small restaurant so you should definitely book before you go.
I found the prices to be very reasonable especially considering it's a central London place but with the Tastecard, it was even better (of course!)
Go on, give it a go!

Well i wouldn't bother. If you tell them you have a taste london card on the phone they either say they can't fit you in or when you come to pay they say because you didn't mention on the phone that you have to pay full whack. They state this in their ts and cs but having gone here lots of times they have turned very unfriendly, and sound like they now have this argument (yes they are quite rude and to the point if you dare to question) and they have lost my business (and will sway my other friends against going here too).
When i got to the restaurant they shoved us at a table and told us we only 1 and half hours to vacate the table, i waited until my first course arrived until i was offered a drink, and then the food was almost tossed in front of us.
There use to be the usual nice lady that served people, now they have her locked out the back and make the nasty lady serve
This is the one thing about taste london i disagree with, once restaurants get people through the door (thanks to the success of taste london) the restaurants change the rules and then try everything to get around discounting meals. They shouln't be on taste london at all anymore.
We were not the only unhappy punters. We left feeling bitter and miserable - thanks lots thai aubergine! By all means follow the rules and you might be fine but i think they will find someway of overcharging/not allowing discount/ ruining your evening.
You've lost my custom for good but return to your old ways and you might not lose any more - you once were great & friendly - but sadly not any more (and also in a pretty seedy area we didn't like walking through anyway!) humph
