William Curley Dessert Bar
our review
Fans of William Curley's bijou dessert bar in Mayfair will be pleased to hear that it has reopened at his new shop near Sloane Square. The shop stocks a wide range of patisserie items, chocolate and ice-cream. The dessert bar serves decadent puds like molleux au chocolate and chocolate and hazelnut cremeux with orange compote.

William Curley is a genius.
I was recommended this magical place by a friend some years ago..however I hadn't made a visit to his store as Richmond was a little to far from home to travel to for chocolate. The opening of the Ebury street store was a great idea as the chocolate is really to die for!
I have spent years in the company of chocolate snobs who will only bring la maison, neuhaus or leonadis boxes over as gifts so I have extremely high expectations from chocolate!! William Curley surpasses all of my chocolate expectations, which has made it extremely difficult to eat other chocolate now!
His wasabi and apricot ,fresh mint and sea salted caramel chocs are absolutely out of this world. If you are in the company of those adverse to chocolate there is also a yummy breakfast option..i remember fresh waffles and fruit!
Every piece of chocolate is a little burst of intense flavour and a testimony to why Curley is so highly regarded in what he does.
The only criticism I have is that sometimes the non chocolate choices do not seem as fresh, as I have experienced slightly dry textures with the macaroons.
The staff are all extremely friendly and very sweet and helpful if its your first time visiting and feel overwhelmed by the choice.
Beware..if you visit William Curley you will never be able to eat chocolate form anyone else again!

First heard of William Curley just before Valentine's Day 2008. Two years later, my now husband treated me to another WC treat !
A treat it was. The desserts looked and tasted rich and absolutely gorgeous without being heavy or leaving the average female feeling guilty about gorging on such gourment items !
The member of staff who tended to us was truly considerate and modified a mocha to my palate since I am intolerant to whole milk. What a gem ... needless to say the mocha was equally delightful !
Although the price tag was relatively high for a dessert in a 'café' setting, it was well worth it ! Quality not quantity ! Will definitely be back there soon !
