THE HIDDEN JEWEL OF BAKER STREET
I rarely find the need to write on these websites - however having visited W55 when it first opened and having experienced somewhat slow service at the time - I now feel obliged to share my new overwhelmingly positive recent experiences...
Firstly, W55 is gorgeous.... the perfect 'chill-out' restaurant...
The food is superb and the funky tapas style menu means you can have something light or a full meal - depending on your mood...
Everything comes beautifully presented and the waiters are always smiling and helpful.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

W55 is one of my favorite restaurants in London. I recommended it to a lot of people who loved it as well and recommended it to some of their friends. The food is fresh and good, you have a large variety of products available. The pastries are delicous. The drink menu is very nice.
I also have to say that for a couple months now the service has highly improved and I always had a good experience there. I go to eat or drink a coffee minimum 2 times a week and it's always been a pleasure.
To have that kind of restaurant central london is amazing. It is not over priced and especially for the quality and the quantity of food served.I have no complain about this place and yesterday night again it was a great pleasure to have dinner there. My friends were amazed by the food and the place itself.
I would highly recommend it! :)

We came here on Sunday afternoon to find that they only served food from 6pm, it was about 30 min away, so we decided to have a Latte and wait. The coffee was worth the wait, it was only about £1.50 for probably the tastiest Cafe Latte I had in a while.
The menu was not the most appealing one, but me and my mother chose risottos, which was rather decent, a lot bigger portion than one would expect from a restaurant (on the other hand my boyfriend's meat portion was rather tiny, and his first choice of salmon was not available).
All in all, I would suggest the place for a coffee and dessert on the outside seating in summer, and a bottle of wine with a friend indoors.
Our waitress was rather unpleasant, and my mother kept on worrying that she would spill something over her, which gladly did not materialize.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!
My husband and I decided to have our Wedding Brunch at this place as we had heard such great reviews.
In spite of my mother and I going through the specific details, ie seating, plaques, what drinks to serve and how many people to cater for - the restaurant absolutely failed!
Considering it was our Special day, the lady that we organised it through was not there on the day and assured us that her colleague would take care of us. She also assured us as we would all be busy that we would be able to pay after the event in the evening or the next day.
Upon our arrival nothing was set up- there was no plaque to indicate that there was a private party- therefore we had people in and out of our area to make it impersonal. we had to chase for the rose wine that was promised. We had to chase for plates for the cake that we brought( the only thing that was alright- since we brought the cake), the 'supervisor' was screaming at my guests and family for no reason, and in spite of telling them numerous times that we wanted catering for 40 people there was food for no more than 10- hence most of my guests starved!! It was embarasssing for my family. And on top of it they made us pay for 42 people!
NEVER EVER GO THERE- most rudest, unorganized, rubbish food!
Thanks for spoiling my big day W55! I think even one star is too generous!

I went there with my father and I had the best tapas in London! Service is provided by young multicultural staff, helpful and cheerful!
I would like to praise its character which so distinct from box standard high street chains. The coffee is the best in Baker street!
The decor is equally amazing. I could go there every day and experience a different aspect of the restaurant.
It has a full drinks & tapas bar, main restaurant & private dining areas and it includes a comprehensive range of delicious home made patisserie, cakes and fresh bread!
A must visit place not too far from Selfridges and busy shopping areas, ideal place to unwind.

This is one of the worst restaurants I have been to in recent memory.
Not even full. Abysmal managers scarcely overseeing the unmotivated staff. Everything needs ordering twice. Wine takes over 25mins to materialise. Menu is a total confusion, printed in a font so small you need a magnifying glass.
Food is late, tepid, and wholly unremarkable. Ketchup arrives in a container the size of a thimble. Sugar arrives on a ludicrous platter.
This place lacks any of the invisible machinery that makes things just work... such as you'd witnessed in a New York restaurant, or a Caprice establishment. Instead a bunch of amateurs are playing at the restaurant game with little pride, care or determination.

I have been here twice now on Sundays and both times it has been hit and miss.
Although the waiting staff seem to try their best it is certainly lacking. The restaurant certainly believes in Style over Substance , and use stupid tea pots and condiment containers which look modern but don't work.
If you have a fried breakfast and ask for any tomato sauce you are presented with a microscopic serving in a microscopic square container.
a simple dish of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon was comically served without the salmon!!
Simple requests to waiters either took ages or weren't completed and you would be served by someone completely different.
These little grumbles might be forgiveable in a small cafe , but in a place which promises and charges a lot, it isn't.

I had a very nice experience at West Fifty Five. We went with some friends for tea. The bakery has so much selection. We chose chocolate macarons, chocolate cake, fruit tarte and lemon cake (a slice of each to share). They were all divine. We were also told that everything including bread is made in house. So we had take away bread and that was also delicious. The staff was very friendly and informative. The atmosphere was great. Tapas bar looked great. We will be back to try it out. I highly recommend it.
