We went in there with such enthusiasm being Turkish food lovers. We have been to two other Turkish restaurants - one in London and the other in Kent (been to these two well over 3 times each, well worth it).
Must say we were all disappointed and the bread must have been the only good bit about it. The food wasn't bad but the main came out too quick after the starter, I was still chewing on my sausage and then had to wait 30 min for the dessert.
Extremely expensive for 2 starters and 3 main meals and 3 desserts. Paid almost £90.
They state Canary Wharf on their address but when asked for a car park token, they claimed they were outside Canary Wharf.
Toilets were simply disgusting with toilet paper all over the floor.
The service wasn't all that anyway, they got our order wrong even though we repeated three times what we wanted. No smiles. Didn't feel that welcome.
I will easily say Ishtar stays the best one for us. Yes, much smaller but so homey and accommdating and the entertainment was fantastically brilliant. We have had lovely food and service every time we have been there.
Must say we will not be visiting Hazev again.

Great Turkish food and sleek, polite service made this a very agreeable stop for us. Will be going back when in the area.

it was my friends graduation and we chose to come here after the ceremony to have dinner. The food was fantastic, I mean absolutely 100% authentic and very very well served, tasty and I would recommend it to anyone.
The interior is simple and not overtly oriental (Arabesk) a balanced fusion. There is a wonderful water front view, but it seems they have managed to add little things that perhaps would not have been in the original design. there were little flower baskets and deflating balloons amongst the plants. There were flashing Xmas lights along the railings outside. It just made me cringe. Sorry guys in this might work in Turkey but not London.
Generally clean but the toilets were not unfortunately.
The service from booking to our good bye was efficient and very well organized. The staff were polite and courteous, except for our waiter who seemed to be rushed off his feet and not so polite, repeating the names of the dishes back to us in a very Turkish accent which made my friends feel uncomfortable as though they had annoyed him by saying it the wrong way. Not everyone knows how to read Turkish Mr Hazev, not even if its now written in Roman/Latin alphabet.
We took the group menu, which was a mix of starters, and we had to choose the main courses, The food was fantastic, the best Turkish food I have eaten in the UK and Holland. The Turkish coffee unfortunately was flat, not enough froth on the top but still tasty so I wont complain.
I will be going again very soon but this time with a much more casual approach and not as formal as we had imagined it to be. I rated it a 9 only because of the waiter, the dirty toilets, the general up keeping of the initial design concept, and the flat coffee otherwise they would get a 10 for sure.

the restaurant is nice to look at, huge place, well decorated, professional attentive staff. The prices are reasonable for canary wharf. However the food is hit and miss. The mezze starter was nice and fresh, the calamari was good, nice breads. however the mains were a let down. I had the iskender this dish was a disaster. Was supposed to be a mixed grill on bread chunks with a tomato and yogourt sauce. the tomato sauce was not freshly made (tasted abit like a watered down heinz tomato soup) there was way too much of it so it (and the yogourt) was literally drowning the meat. The meat though was flavour less and poor quality. The people I was with also had bad mains. The real problem was the quality of the meat used. Such a shame because the starters were lovely. The baklava for desert was nice but it was not freshly made (you can tell because its slightley tough)...
Overal a classy atmosphere, and well run restaurant, but the food is not great (not awefull though). 3 of us ate for 95 pounds with starters, mains, drinks, deserts etc.. which is very reasonble.
I would still not put people off going there though. Worth a visit if you are in the wharf to make up your own mind. consider the only negative comment really the quality of the main dishes (meats especially)

What an excellent meal I had!. My friend and I stumbled into this place- it looks inviting- has lots of space, and the separation of bar from restaurant makes it perfect to choose restaurant for a quieter meal (or the bar if one wants to mingle with drinks!).
The food was excellent- including the bread, dip and olives. The dessert was mindblowing! The house-wine is one of the better house-wines I have had.
The icing on the cake was the staff- very attentive and great service.
The only regret is that I didn't find the place earlier! It needs to be advertised better!

This is by far the best restaurant in Canary Wharf I've been to so far especially because of the service, it is very hard to find a restaurant nowadays in London where service is so good. The interior is excellent with very comfortable leather armchairs, the music is relaxing and its volume is optimal which is a great plus after Gaucho...
- Their homemade bread and the dip they give are first class.
- I ate garlic sausage with salad as hot starter, I can recommend this for sure
- I tried dolma as a cold starter which was OK though nothing special
- Their grill dishes are very good, probably that is the main reason I will return to try others as well. I tried Iskender which is a complete dish itself, no sides or salads are necessary at all.
- their Baklava for dessert is excellent though I recommend ordering at least 2 per person as they give only 3 pieces of small baklava. The pudding I ate was also delicious though I think there are much better desserts on their list which I am going to check out in the future.
- Their wine list is good, I was very happy to see a Hungarian white wine on the list as I am a Hungarian myself.
