Marie's Thai cafe is one of London's best kept secrets though I think a lot of people know about it now. Simple transport cafe which does amazing value for money Thai food plus all day breakfast if fried egg, chips and beans ignites your taste buds. I have always found the service good and friendly and that is from going there for over 30 years. A big steaming mug of tea is always good to compliment the food but try their fresh ginger tea. It's delicious. In fact Marie's is so good I am going there tonight!

I love this place. Its not much to look at and you have to squeeze into the tightly packed tables but the food is honest and authentic and great big portion sizes. Its also one of the most reasonable place to eat in the area. Don't be put off by apprearance. They also do great lunch in one box to take away which is really good value for money.

I have never had a bad meal here yet. Service is a bit abrupt but you can't complain with the prices, and they are alway super busy which is not a surprise.

Sweet Marie’s. Last night was another of numerous visits to your reassuringly shambolic abode. My green curry was simple and delicious, my companion’s panang likewise. Our rice dishes were sizeable steaming mounds. Our spring rolls crisp and hot. And our cups of tea, sugary syrups of brown, were served up in marvellously mismatched mugs.

On a bank of overpriced and underwhelming alternatives, you are my pre-National and my pre-Imax. My pre-Old Vic and my pre-Young Vic.

These weeks its harder to squeeze cheeks onto one of your tables. But for good reason.
