Lisa Markwell - 5/10

Sunday, July 25, 2010 - It's built for speed, not for comfort - metal-topped tables and chuck-away plates and cutlery. In fact, it's quick-casual...My bowl of barbacoa beef (stringy, but not unpleasant) comes with rice, beans, salsa, sour cream and chillis, which is what all the dishes on offer seem to be - just the meat (there's also pork and chicken, which look unnervingly similar) and delivery method varies. Mr M has the pork version wrapped in a tortilla and it arrives sealed in tinfoil, looking like a bomb. With a beer, lemonade and shared side order of chips and surprisingly zingy, fresh guacamole.

Had great crispy tacos here at the weekend. Very tasty chicken filling with chilli sauce (had medium spice) and enjoyed a refreshing corona with lime on the side!

Went with a group a friends before going out for the night and really enjoyed it!

Only had one toilet which was a bit of a pain as had to queue...

Will definitely have to return to sample the burritos - two of my mates had them and they looked great (if a little messy to eat!)

Went here on the off chance last night, was impressed by the big portions, value for money and quick time. The food was tasty and the staff friendly. I think the only thing lacking was the seating plans- we had to wait to be able to sit together, but would go back

The food was delicious and great value for money. It's a great place to go either on your own to grab a quick, easy and delicious dinner or go with a group of friends to sit down and relax over a burrito. Staff were all really polite and helpful and it was just generally a really nice place to go out for dinner and not break the bank. I'll definitely be going again soon.

Well, the reviews seem to have improved. Wonder if this reflects the experience or if the Chipotle team have been busily fake reviewing...

I've been twice now. It's a burrito. It's fine. But it's not that tasty, the fillings don't taste as fresh as I'd like and the quality of ingredients is questionable. I've had better burritos at Luardo's and Daddy Donkey and they're street food.

Service was slow and clueless on my last visit. There is a problem with food piling up while people wait to pay. Too many lunch options in the area to bother with this US import again.

Great food and easy dining, and rarely, for good value too.

It's made in front of you and it is actually one of those places where if you want more of something (i always want more cheese) they'll give it you without fuss and without charging you more.

I had more food than I can eat and change from £10 - you can't ask for more than that in such a great location.

Really enjoyed 'Chipotle' - the food was really tasty, there was loads of choice and the portions were very generous! Also having a alcohol license makes it a great 'speedy' choice on a night out. Although as it was really busy we did find it difficult to get seats together!

I'm an American student studying abroad from Texas so I have grown up with a fierce love for Mexican food. My fellow classmates and I had heard that a Chipotle had opened up close to where we were staying and jumped at the opportunity. The set-up of the restaurant is the same as back home but the food is a little different. They had brown rice which is healthier and the portion sizes are a bit smaller which is great. I had a chicken burrito and it tasted different than home but I LOVED it. I thought it was exceptional and I was so happy to have some good mexican food close by. I would definitely recommend this place to any visiting Americans who need a mexican fix or any Brits who enjoy fresh mexican food. I'm not really sure about the value because everything is much more expensive here than Texas but the uncertainty won't deter me from coming back for more!

Fast and friendly service, loved the long communal table. Good value for lunch and you can have beer!

I think it needs a little more decoration though

Went along to try out Chipotle with a few work collagues at lunch and was pleasantly suprised. Being calorie concious went for the salad option and was pleased with the variety avaialble and tastiness of the various accompainments all washed down with a nice beer. We were served quickly and there was plenty of seating would definately recommend for a quick, value for money eat. Only slight criticism would be that they need a reference guide to some of the items avaiable although the staff were very good at answering any questions.

Having been a massive fan of mexican food i am not adverse to a few buritos washed down with a taco or two. so when i saw a new mexican bar called Chipotle open in the Charing cross i had to give it a go!

I was more than impressed with the succulent looking meats on offer from chicken, to pork to steak it all smelt wounderful.

i decided to try the Pork Crispy Tacos with mild salsa... which turned out to be a great choice. i was offered a wide varity of salsas, guacamoles and cheese to accompany my tacos and i took advantage of the wide variety.

Then came the biggest shock...the price i was so impressed that i got three filled to the brim tacos for so cheap!

I recommend anyone to try this even if you dont like mexican food im sure you will be converted.! Chipotle is now my number one for mexican food!

A Rather Unusual Chinaman

A Rather Unusual Chinaman

Friday, August 27, 2010 - The cost may be on the high side, but the chunks of meat looked the business. Nice char on the outside with a ruby pink centre, I knew it was too good to be true. I trudged back to the office, took it back to my desk and took my first bite. A wave of disappointment immediately came over me. If you want a blow by blow account, the first taste to hit you is the intense sourness. Odd and unpleasant, a heavy handed squeeze of lime assaulted my taste buds...Very disappointed, I discarded the last few mouthfuls in disgust.
