Kimo's

I must say i find it really sad that people find that they need to mention the fact that there is a white chef at kimos my friend and i went to kimos on friday 29 th oct 11 we stayed there half the evening we had alovely time the owners are really nice people and it has a lovely family atmosphere there two young children are there, who are both really nice polite kids.

we both ate and i have to say as a black woman i take my hat off to the lady who does the cooking both myself and my friend could find no fault with the food infact it was lovely and we had takeaway as well its no surprise to me that when you ask the lady if she cooked the food that she becomes a little tongue tied and does not quite no if she should answer the question or not, all i can say is she should be very proud to say she cooked the food its lovely, well done ! and to all you small minded individuals who clearly are unable yo cook so feel you need to take that out on a white lady who can cook get a life and stop trying to damage the reputation of a really nice place because its wrong and you should be ashamed of yourselfes, we will be regular customers at kimos and the night time event with the dj,s is very good as well.

I've been twice to Kimo's and think it is great value for money. The food is very authentic- my mum is Jamaican and a very good cook, she is fussy and even she loved the food!! The first time I went the service was slow -BUT we didnt mind as we were given the desserts for free! The 2nd time there were 16 of us - we had the buffet, very good quality food - Dont be put off by the comment about a "white" chef being there - the person who wrote that has a problem - would they like it if people complained when they see a "black" chef in an English restaurant!!!??? I think that reviewer needs to be re-educated- they should visit Jamaica and see that the saying "out of many one people" is true - but please give Kimo's a try. you will like it.

We first went to Kimos at the beginning of August this year and enjoyed the meal sufficiently to re-book for a larger group. I was somewhat apprehensive after reading a toxic review recently posted on this website. However we enjoyed an excellent buffet meal on September 17th. The food was cooked to perfection, was flavoursome, and authentic (about half of the 16 guests were first or second generation Jamaicans and all enjoyed the meal). Tricia and co provided an efficient and friendly service, and are to be commended for their fine establishment. The table decorations, background music and general ambience added to the enjoyment. All in all excellent value for money. Do not be put off by the previous review, it bears no resemblance to my experience.

The 1st two reviews are obviously fake! The food is absolutely repulsive. The peas in the rice were hard, the stew chicken tasted like off burnt roast chicken, curry goat didnt even taste like curry and was full of fat! Do not eat here! I have been to many caribbean restaurants in my time and have NEVER experienced anything like this!!!! Also I knew it would be rubbish when a white chef brought the food down to us!

Great food, good welcome, friendly atmosphere. Recommend for parties, nights out, really good scoffs! Rice and Peas, saltfish, chicken, goat, dumplings, plantain, salads etc etc yum, yum!
