The Four Lanterns

I like coming to 4 Lanterns with a group of my friends. We always come late and restaurant stays opened specially for us! They serve the best steak I've ever eaten! The owner and all staff is exellent. But where is that Polish waitress used to work there for a long time? She was the best! everybody miss Kasha!

I was expecting an authentic Greek experience - Mediterranean hospitality, atmosphere, great cuisine. Instead our waitress had an attitude problem, the meal took over 40 minutes to come, and when it did it was just okay in comparison to other greek food I've had, definitely not worth the wait. Then after all of this malaise we were promptly shown the bill and rushed out on an unbusy weekday evening! Never again.

This is the first time that I ever make a comment. I am sorry that is to describe the frustration of being to this restaurant. At the beginning, it seemed like a nice restaurant, served by a nice fellow, and with nice starters. However, the waiter that was giving “service” became clearly irritated when I mentioned that the beef I ordered was salty. I didn’t even have time to tell her that one of the potatoes had fish flavour (just one, I wonder were that potato came from!!!). There was confusion with the menu, and when I insisted that the food I ordered was part of a menu and that I was expecting to pay accordingly, both the “nice fellow” and the waiter were completely irritated. That was the worst experience in London, and definitely the only bad one at a Greek restaurant… I hope such events won’t happen again, for the pleasure of the clients and the continuity of the business.

We were recommended this place by friends. My wife and I went there for a snack before the cinema. The food was good and the portions too generous for the short time we had there but it is a wonderful place, an intimate and happy atmosphere that is hard to find outside of village restaurants. Friendly staff and a feeling that you have just walked into a place where nice people go. The owner/manager is a wonderful host and when we said if we didn't already have tickets for a show we would loved to have stayed there all night, the owner invited us to come back after the cinema, which we did - it was obvious that most of the customers were regulars as they bantered with the staff: Entertaining and a lovely place to be.

Full marks.

Great Resturant. Great Chef. I think he should be in a better and larger resturant. Excellant service. I went with my work friends everybody loved the food and the service. Wine was cheap and the best.

What a wonderful place. I thought first off that every body already in there was part of the same group but they were not - just all regulars. The staff were excellent and we really felt cared for. I tipped double what I would normally and think they deserved more.

Thank You 4 Lanterns. You are 1st rate.

We ate at The Four Lanterns during our stay in London. The food was excellent and the service very good. The only drawback to our dining experience was the extremely poor ventilation of the restaurant! While we were dining, the food being cooked on the grill completely filled the atmosphere! We walked out smelling like we had worked in the restaurant kitchen all day! It took two days to "air out" our coats, handbag, etc. This will be the only thing that would keep us from returning for another dining experience.

I went to this restaurant last week with a party of 20. What can I say, brilliant. You got to try the humous! Fantastic food and friendly service. Try the meat balls too - wow.

I found the four lanterns at this website and reading the reviews I decided to try it. What a great choice, they have lovely food in there, lovely atmosphere and good value for money. I will definietely be back.

This is a fantastic place to enjoy your evening. I went to The Four Lanterns with some friends. My meal was mixed Greek starters- delicious staff and grilled fish which was wonderful. We've been well looked after and entertained by Peter- the owner, so funny bloke and his staff. Thanks guys, we will be back:)
