I ate here on Saturday evening with my wife and a friend and it was pretty quiet. We all found the food to be excellent and have already recommended it to a friend who lives near by. My wife has been to Mexico three times. Looking at the other reviews, I don't know if they have just changed the chef or it pays to go there when it is quiet, but we had a very different experience from what they describe. We took advantage of a 50% discount offer too so the price was very reasonable.

The worst food I've ever eaten out. Avoid like the plague, utterly dreadful with no redeeming features.

I wish I had read the other reviews on this site before visiting this restaurant. It advertises itself as Mexican but they obviously have never even opened a Mexican cookbook, as the food was a weird mix of odd ingredients, which sadly did not make a pleasant meal. The first bad omen came when the food arrived within a few minutes of ordering - clearly a microwave job as one of the other reviews has indicated. My tacos were soggy and the beans were straight out of a can. The salsa and guacamole did not taste at all as they should and had some strange flavour which neither myself or my partner (who has lived in Texas close to the Mexican border most of her life and knows real Mexican food) could identify. My partner's "Mexican" rice was a bizarre mix of peas, carrots, and sweetcorn and didn't even come close to the ones you can buy in a packet at the supermarket. Finally, the service was almost non-existent, and the atmosphere consisted of playing a small selection of loud and annoying Mexican pop songs on repeat. If you are considering going here, please do yourself a favour and choose somewhere else - it can't possibly be any worse! The one consolation was that we had a 50% off deal, and even that was too much to pay.

I couldn't agree without the last review more. Went in before a show at the Apollo in Feb and walked out after an utter joke of a starter. The waitress couldn't understand us and how do you serve nachos that are burnt and soggy at the same time? Also the side salad garnish was awful and was so hot it was obvious it had just been in the microwave. Luckily we saw this as a sign of things to come, paid for our beers and walked out and ate at a pub just down the road. As we walked back to the Apollo to see the show we felt sorry for the other people in their obviously using it as a pre-show eating place as it is the closest place to the theatre which must how the place stays open as you would never go there twice! The worst restaurant in the world by far!

The worst restaurant I have been to. Not mexican at all. I could do better at home. The food was cold and greasy. Service, what service. I couldn't believe I paid and wish I hadn't.
