Latium is a really high quality Italian Resturant, i've eaten at the resturant several time. The fresh pasta is amazing, the menu is always changing, the service is fast and not intrusive. Its a lovely and really reliable dinner.

Recently returned from Rome, had an amazing holiday and thought the food couldn't be beat..... how wrong was I. This restaurant is amazing. The food, the service, the manager, the price of what you get is all 10 star.
If you want genuine Italian at real prices, amazing wine list and fab staff, look no further. The best restaurant in central London I have been to for years!! Will go back here again and again

I live in London but I spend long periods in Italy for work. Whenever I come back to London, the first thing I do is to book at Latium!
It is a great restaurant where in my opinion Italian cuisine is represented at its best in London (and I have tried most of the best, both in Italy and here), with just the right mix between tradition and creativity, with fantastic colours, clear and balanced flavours and impeccable ingredients at the forefront.
For me chef Maurizio Morelli has been the culinary revelation of the past few years, and no fellow food-lover, Italian or otherwise I have taken to Latium has ever been disappointed. I find his cuisine at least as good as, and sometimes clearly superior to, that of several Michelin starred chefs.
And what a professional and likeable team in the front room. Really the only minor negative thing I can find to say is that the room can get a little noisy, especially when large parties are present. But for such great food, at these prices, treated in this way, it's a truly minor inconvienience to pay!
As an Italian passionate about food, I am proud that this restaurant exists: Long live Latium!

I booked a table for 15 of us on an a la carte basis, which only Italian restaurants in London seem to be able to cater for. Simply outstanding cooking and presentation, excellent friendly service, first-class wines at sensible prices, and a very nice ambience in a modern but warm setting. Couple all of this with pre- and post-prandial drinks at the long bar of the Sanderson Hotel opposite the restaurant, and you have the recipe for a fine afternoon of gastronomy and excess.

Eight of us were taken here by my mother for a birthday celebration. I thought it was superb: informative, friendly and not too imposing service, great ambience, delicious, inventive and beautifully presented cooking and prices (for the food anyway) which were not ridiculous.
One minor critisism is that it was periodically too hot in the restaurant and we kept having to ask for the air conditioning to be turned up for a blast of cold air. I suspect that this was because we are sitting on the table next to the entrance to the kitchen, so a tip would be to ask not to be sat there. Minor point only.
Highly recommended.

Given up trying to get into Locatelli ? This is smaller but equally delightful with genuinely interested and serious staff who are clearly devoted to their craft. We had an outside edge corner table but I forgot about it as soon as olives from their estate and warm amuses bouches quickly arrived with Prosecco. A trio of immaculate, elderly Italian men could have been retired Sicilian hitmen and there was a (silent) baby too at nine o'clock which leant the restrained and slightly dim interior a proper ambience. The maitre d' and all the staff were formally charming, helpful and discreet, a bit like the food. We had stewed baby octopus in a chick pea sauce and a delicate smoked fish to begin, with a divided seabass from the main menu as a second followed by ravioli - ox tail with celery sauce and mushrooms with snails in tomato - from the separate ravioli menu as a main. Nice, unfussy touches throughout the meal: succession of sparkling ashtrays, new bread baskets, glasses constantly tended and never overfilled. They didn't have the Verdicchio and offered a beautifully clean and cheaper Pinot but the Amarone was the best I have tasted, both wines perfectly kept and served. You can spend a lot of money in here if you're not careful, but there are sensible set courses and like all truly good restaurants, if you approach the meal in the right frame of mind you won't be disappointed.

Latium is superb. The food is top drawer, the wine list is imaginative and the service is attentive without being intrusive. I enjoyed this meal very much. My evening was topped off by the maitre de looking like American Idol winner Taylor Hicks. Go there - it's great

I took my girlfriend to Latium on Friday night for a late Valentines Day meal and I can honestly say that I ate one of the best meals I have ever eaten in London (and we go out to dinner a lot!). From the moment we walked in I was struck by the style of the restaurant - nicely spaced tables, chic, minimalist decor and slightly dimmed lighting. The maitre d' who greeted us was very professional as was the service throughout. The little extras which others have referred to were wonderful - a great selection of breads as well as rice balls and a variety of olives. The food we chose from the interesting, broad menu was even more delightful. The chicken tortollini in hens broth was melt-in-the-mouth delicious and the potato encrusted brill for main was fantastic. Frankly i'm running out of superlatives but my girlfriend's choices were apparently equally inspired. The great selection of petit fours at the end rounded off an amazing meal. Now I know why this is one of the only only Italians in London to get the top mark for food from the Hardens guide. We will definitely be back. I am glad to say that the restaurant was packed throughout the evening which means we're obviously not the only ones...
