I have eaten at Latium many times over the last few years and have always had an excellent meal with excellent service. I have entertained clients here, met friends here and even took my mum here for her birthday! I cannot fault this establishment. Try the walnut and taleggio ravioli it is amazing!! in fact keep going there until you have gone right through the menu.

We had dinner at Latium on friday night. The welcome from the Manager and the staff was very friendly and make feel at home already. We hade the Rossini cocktail (fresh strwaberry and spumante) was very nice with the complimentary canapée from the Chef. We order the food and the ravioli were fantastic, and the fish of the day ..Superb The sommelier suggest a white wine which complimented the all meal. at the end of meal we had coffee with petit fours Beautiful. The service, food and atmosphere first class. The price are below the competitors in the area, from what we had. We enjoy very much our evening and we planing to go back soon

Lunch at Latium was a very sleek affair on my recent visit.

Starters of Bressaola with green beans was light & tasty, followed by a perfectly cooked monkfish with girolles and a pumpkin sauce. The restaurant is airy and spacious with spot on service.

Having enjoyed a lovely lunch at Latium a few years I was looking forward to returning for dinner, however Thursday night was a very different experience. The bread and starters were very nice and drinks arrived promptly, but then it all started to go wrong. My rib eye was one of the worst pieces of beef I have seen and was nothing more than fat and gristle - I was amazed any chef would serve it. My husband's hare ragout pasta had obviously sat under a hallogen light for far too long before being served and had dried out completely and the tiny portion of ragout could not save it. The astonishing part of this was that the staff obviously realised that we had a problem with the food and their reaction was to avoid us like the plague. Nobody came to ask if everything was OK and when we finished pushing it round our plates it took at least 20 minutes for the staff to reluctantly clear our plates away. They were fussing around all the other diners but studiously avoided us. When our plates were eventually cleared we pointed out that the meat was dreadful and the pasta inedible. This was greeted with a shrug and little apology. There was no offer of a discount, complimentary drink or anything else to acknowledge our complaint. A real shame as I had been so looking forward to eating at Latium again but we certainly will not be returning.

Latium is an elegant and understated affair and its food makes it a real challenger to the mayfair Italian big boys' throne.

With an intimate feel and attentive staff the first impressions were good.

Then came the menu... and I felt an involuntary smile appear on my face. Alongside a wonderful menu of Italian classic such as mozzarella salad, gnocci, risotto and meaty delicacies like ossu bucco, there was a also a whole separate menu dedicated to the art of making ravioli! Chef Maurizio Morelli is quite simply a master of his craft and although at first glance a whole menu dedicated to ravioli may seem like overkill, one bite of these heavenly parcels of deliciousness will justify the chef's (and your) obsession!

Whilst Mayfair contenders for the title of London's best Italian restaurant are brilliant in some areas, I have yet to find one that delivers 10/10 dishes from antipasti all the way to dolce. Not so at Latium, where everything from the complementary crositini at the start of the meal, to the mind altering mint ravioli stuffed with pineapple and coconut sauce at the end, keep your palate mesmerized throughout.

This really is one of the very best Italian restaurants in London and whilst £110 for a 3 course meal for two with wine, might seem a tad steep, its still less than you'll pay in Mayfair whilst being second to none when it comes to flavour and service.

The food here is excellent value at £30 for three courses. It is not the best Italian in London, but dishes are good, sometimes very good, with clear flavours and attractive presentation. The winelist is a little steep, but there are drinkable bottles for the £30 mark, so a three course meal for two sharing a bottle of pleasant wine would be about £100 including service. Given that you get the full whack experience from crostini to petit fours, with an excellent bread basket thats replenished willingly, this has to be one of the best value restaurants in London. The setting is a lovely light room, simply decorated and with plenty of room between tables. Service was a little hit and miss, friendly and helpful when present but sometimes difficult to catch their attention. All in all though, this is an excellent restaurant.

Visited Latium last night having been once before many years ago, but found it to still be at the same excellent standard as it was then.

The main draw for me was the price, with 2 courses for £26 or 3 for £29. When you add a bottle of wine and service charge, you're looking at about £50 a head which is very reasonable for the quality and location of restaurant.

Service was unobtrusive and polite, with wine glasses refilled as appropriate. Food was excellent - scallops with asparagus, steak tartare, prawn tagiatelli and the rare beef were all delicious, as was the broccoli risotto. I would say the food was more European than typically Italian, although I'm not an expert by any means.

No real complaints, and would certainly visit again. If you want a nightcap then the Sanderson hotel opposite has a couple of very nice bars as well.

Very disappointing experience. My starter paired a terrine with a disgustingly sweet concoction described as a 'fruit mustard'. When questioned the maitre d' noted that 'mustard' was not an accurate translation and I cannot imagine what 'inspired' the chef to set a rather anodyne dish alongside something so overpowering. My partner skipped the starter and was happy with her pasta dish, but my palate never recovered and I found my own seafood ravioli dish bland and uninspiring. We both found our mains gastronomically unchallenging to say the least (hers a fish dish sullied by an omnipresent cheese sauce; mine a dull version of what one would have thought a safe bet: Ossobuco). It's been a while since I was so glad to leave a restaurant.
