Lisa Markwell - 13/20

Sunday, May 09, 2010 - My 'new yorico jumbo all-beef hot dog' is as much of a mouthful as its title. The attendant fried onions are melting, the bun is nicely, unhealthily soft and white and, once it has been dressed with the ketchup and mustard from a heap of tabletop condiments, it does taste pretty authentic...And so, with regret, to the burgers. The buns are small, seeded and a bit flimsy. The crispy bacon on the BLT and Rodeo burgers is anything but. The size, modest. The taste, meh...Nevertheless I like this place. The staff are genuinely helpful and the menu does have range beyond what's expected of a fast-food joint.

Monday, March 15, 2010 - The burgers? Disappointing. Not bad, just disappointing. We really wanted to like the food, as the place was a hoot, with its groovy colours and heavily bearded waiter. But a limp patty is a limp patty, and a dull bun can't be disguised by sprinkling it with linseeds. Crinkle-cut chips were a big thing in the early 1970s, and here they've been revived in all their pale, pre-fab glory. The alternative was sweet potato fries, which would have been better if they'd not been served lukewarm.

Food was great, really good burger and the sweet potato chips were our favourite. ALSO very quick

BUT and this is a massive but...as we walked in we were basically screamed at by staff as to where we should stand, we also found that our personal waitress was impaitient and gave unnecessary faces when we were talking about our order, she then kept interrupting our conversation and almost screamed at us to ask if we were listening to her.

Some of the staff made the experience embarassing and so awkward

Unbelievably bad!! Shocked at just how bad it was.

The food was the worst I've ever had served to me. I had asked for the meat to be well cooked, but had served to me rare with blood soaked through the bread bun. Not to mention that it was COLD!

Ordered a side of what seemed to be Tesco-value frozen chips with topped with tasteless gloop (apparently it was cheese). Again, it was served COLD!

Can honestly say that McDonalds is a million times better. Give me a McD's cheese burger ANY DAY!

A waste of £24.. deeply regret my Guerilla experience. NEVER AGAIN, I couldn't be paid enough to go there again.

Without a doubt the best burger in London by miles! Burger was full of flavour and cooked to perfection. Onion rings were fresh and crunchy, Crinkle chips were amazing- a must try! Service was excellent -very friendly and helpful team. Value for money excellent- there is simply no comparison when it comes to getting a good burger in London. I only hope this place doesnt expand and turn into just another one of these abhorrent chain restaurants as that will be a real shame!

What a cool little place. Warm, friendly service, simple food done really well.

Popped in for a quick lunch this afternoon - delighted, will be back!

Our two year old was greeted immediately by the manager and whisked off to our table. Cool retro American Diner décor. Drinks menu, again simple, but carefully considered eg Brooklyn New York Lager (Sam Adams style ale). Snippets on the menu/walls suggest the ingredients are carefully sourced.

Ordered prawns (served with a really well dressed side salad), blue cheese and avocado burger (the Cobb burger) and sweet potato fries. Food was really fresh (no limp pre prepared salad here!), and was well prepared and seasoned.

Unlike the ubiquitous Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Giraffe etc, Guerilla Burgers is a one off and is owned by a real person! It's just a burger joint, but has a real personality and buzz and I really enjoyed my lunch time visit.

Having been open for just a couple of months, I guess some of the less favourable reviews below suggest a learning curve. Based on my first visit today all that's behind them, and I hope they do very well!

Food was acceptable - not superlative - but decent for the price. Would have been good to have an entire onion ring rather than just the outer 2 rinds...

Luke-warm beer and excuses did not go down well. No beer on tap.

For some reason, when you order chips, there is no place to squeeze out ketchup/mustard...the idea of a serviette seems a bit alien as well. the staff are friendly, but ineffective.

The atmosphere is clearly for the 18-24 year olds. If any older, or you value companionship and hearing, you're better off elsewhere. [ie, if you want to have a conversation]

Value for money derived from the above...I will never go back, but may suit some tastes.

We went looking for Tootsies and found Guerilla Burgers' instead (apparently Tootsies has been bought over by Giraffe).

We decided to eat there anyway, and I have to say that although the atmosphere was lively and the service very good, it was the worst veggie burger I have ever eaten in London! My husband's chicken burger was not great either - we're definately not going back there!!

We live locally and were keen to check this place out. The restaurant is really well designed and funky. Service was great. The food was not. Chips which were worse than those I would cook at home and a rubbish burger. Not a repeat visit. If you want a decent burger, go to the gourmet burger kitchen...

heard about this place from twitter a while ago and fancied it - then finally went last night after selfridges shopping. we were greeted by a couple of guys in cool pink t-shirts who asked us to choose where we wanted to sit (impressed - usually get walked to a convenient table) - and it was busy too - so i liked the fact i could still choose. so anyway we had the rodeo burger and the fish tacos and some sweet tata fries and crinkle chips (sooo retro i loved them!) , the burger was cooked just right and tasted AMAZING - I also had a taste of the fish tacos which are definitley on my to-have-next list

We had some beers and then tried a margarita which was disgracefully good so we ended up having another

Staff were great, loved the music and we will definitley come back, probably this weekend.

Went here the other night. Lots of stuff on the menu about good ingredients and all that rubbish. Means nothing if the burgers aren't great. And they're dire. Sorry, don't care if they're cheaper than some of the other posh burger places. Cheap shouldn't mean awful. They do have a cool looking waiter with a beard, though!

Tuesday, March 09, 2010 - When the very social-media savvy Guerilla Burgers popped up on Twitter and promised burgers AND fish tacos, well, I couldn't not respond to their oh-so-tempting offer...The burgers were pretty cute. I wanted to like them. So you can probably guess what happened. I didn't like the burgers. They were dry. They were hard. They lacked flavor. On the other hand, I liked the sweet potato fries. Being partly Floridian, I eat a lot of sweet potatoes. I don't think they get enough table time in this country.

Cheese and Biscuits

Cheese and Biscuits - 2/10

Tuesday, February 23, 2010 - Only with the arrival of the burger itself did events take a serious downturn. First of all, that bloody bun. It would be bad enough if they had just stuck with the floury buns from the Facebook photos, inauthentic and dull though they are. But instead, my patty came inside what looked like a sourdough muffin that someone had spilled Bran Flakes on. It was chewy and dense, fighting with and providing no sweet counterpoint to the (admittedly rather nicely cooked and seasoned) beef. Pickles looked like they had been sliced quite a long time previously, and were shrivelled and chewy. Salad was a salad.

Dos Hermanos

Dos Hermanos

Wednesday, February 17, 2010 - The main event served in silver trays, was presented with some ceremony by the lovely wait staff, but the sight of a seeded bun did not augur well. The walls of the restaurant were covered with praises of the perfect burger, which makes the insipid efforts that were placed in front of us all the more disappointing. The meat is cooked medium but was dry and tasteless...Milkshakes were teriffic, creamy and thick and the service was efficient and a total delight, if slightly over eager on the first day.
