we arrived tired and hungry on new years eve 2011. we were made to feel very welcome. they were busy and we had not booked. the food was great and our waitress Aby could not do enough to help us. next time we visit london we will be back.

Visited as a family on a Saturday for late lunch. Friendly staff, very good food & great value. Nice atmosphere; modern yet relaxed. Would definitely visit again.

We travelled from New Zealand to holiday in London and went to The Loose Box for dinner. We were greeted by a very genial "mine host" and found the waiting staff attentive and friendly. Loved the surroundings and the food. In fact it was so good that we went back again and if we return to London it will be the first place we go for dinner.

Arrived shortly before midday to be greeted by cheerful staff, happy to accommodate me, my folding bike, my laptop, whatever. Felt driven to write a review just for the quality of the welcome, so rare in London these days.

The ambience is pleasant and lively without being noisy, now that it's filled up for lunch. Service is attentive (yes, they want to make sure you have a drink, but they check if the food's good and they SMILE convincingly). The food is great for the price in this location - £4 for salt and pepper squid with soy sauce and £8 for wild mushroom linguini were both good value for very tasty offerings.

Very much recommended and refreshing to enjoy a lunch in central London so much.
