I will save time by saying that all the below reviews about indifferent service and rude doormen are quite accurate. As for the prices, I realise it is wrong to complain about a place being expensive (£10 for a Long Island Iced Tea) as it is entirely one's choice whether or not to go there, I do believe that if I am spending double digits on a cocktial, I am entitled to expect that it will be well prepared and served with pride and grace. My L.I.T. tasted like coke and a combination of watered-down, indistinguishable liquors. Very very disappointing, though the atmosphere during the world-cup final was quite enjoyable. They had a live Bongo-player to drum roll before the penalty kicks, and good dance music during breaks in play...

It was impossible to hear what my date was saying over the ridiculous loud music. Not a problem for me in a bar situation but when you are expected to spend that much money on a meal it is a bit much. Staff rude and unhelpful too. Can't make up its mind whether it wants to be a trendy bar or a trendy restaurant. Either way, it ends up as an untrendy, unfriendly, cold expensive place. Wouldn't be going back

5 of us went to Collection late last night to join another group of friends that had been there most of the evening. The doorman was totally rude, arrogant and full of himself. I will never go back to collection. Being on the door is not an easy job but too often doormen take their positions so seriously that they abuse their power and treat guests like dirt. The doorman on duty last night had a real attitude and totally humiliated us and it ruined our night. If the owners choose to treat their clients in this way I do not see why I would want to go there no matter how nice the place is. And lets face it other than the nice decor the collection does not have anything special. Shame!

Very rude door staff but excellent food. However, do not go if you actually want to talk to your dinner companions. The appalling music is so loud it makes speech impossible

i think the people that go to this place generally have a bit of high brow attitude... that is definitely reflected in the attitude of the staff downatairs..

eating upstairs recently we had excellent service and great food... coupled with expensive but tasty cocktails... make of the collection what you will... it was a saturday night so after dinner we headed downstairs to join the party...

I went to the collection last night, had really nice meal mainly due to the company of my other diners. The sevice was mediocre, the food was good, however this was all overshadowed by the fact that the air conditioning was on so high that I had to put my coat on! When we asked about this they turned it off, then five minutes later turned it back on again! The other problem with this restaurant is that it is vastly overpriced, which is to be expected in this area of london. The final insult was the 15% service charge automatically added to the bill. We did not pay it!!! Go for pre nightclub cocktails not for a meal.

Absolutely Unbelievably Attitude: We showed up with 10 people for drinks before 6 o'clock on a weekday in January. Not a soul in the place. We were nevertheless squeezed into a corner which we did not mind (much). At 6:30 we asked to take a chair from a nearby empty table (in a room-full of empty tables) for a new arrival, and were told that we could only have a stool (or had to separate some of our group to sit at the other table?!) as they "needed the chairs" (contradictory no, and our ofer to give up the chairs if (incredibly) they proved to be needed before we left cut no ice). We finished our drinks and left quite unhappy with the entire place still quite empty of course at 7. Classic line when the 20+ year old manager has started this argument through his outrageous position: "I don't want to argue". p.s. we were very well dressed, perfectly sober, ordering well and until this very happy. Do the owner's know?
