TimeOut - 4/5

Tuesday, April 06, 2010 - We were advised to order a meze for two which, although modestly portioned, we thoroughly enjoyed: from subtle steamed spinach balls with ground walnuts and coriander to the bold turmeric-coloured bean stew called lobio, accompanied by flaky khachapuri flatbread, stuffed with cheese. Khinkali - large dumplings filled with minced beef and pork - came bare on a plate, but were soft and juicy. These were great a combination with the hot, if too salty, adjika sauce made with red peppers, garlic, herbs and spices.

This is absolutely the best place if you do not know Georgian food... Excellent fresh food, very polite and friendly staff. We have been treated really special by the staff.

We had imeruli khachapari with meze for two. My favorite was spinach and aubergine. No doubt about cheesy bread it was just somthing really unique.

Our mains ajapsandali, sacivi with cornmeal, khinkali and mcvadi. We never thought if this place could make such a great food... If anyone does not know Georgian food? You should try this place will definitely enjoy...

Highly recomended.... Back soon...

I was very pleased when I heard that there was a new Georgian restaurant just minutes of walking distance from my place. I love the Georgian food! I just got back from Russia, where I lived and worked for two years. The Georgian restaurants in Moscow were the number one place for us to dine. Last week I convinced two of my friends to go to Iberia, and since I described the food to be fabulous, they had very high expectations. Unfortunately they have not been met Immediately after trying starters, khachapuri and meze, my was spoiled. I thought that the food was not fresh, particularly meze. Regardless, I hoped that the mains would stand out so I kept cheerful. The smell of ajaruli khacapuri filled the room and I was glad that I was very optimistic about the main courses even after my disappointment with the starters. But again, there was something lacking in ajaruli khachapuri. While I thought that imeruly khachapuri was reheated, thus overcooked, the ajaruli was undercooked, sacivi was watery and soko was very salty. My friends tried to make jokes as I announced earlier that the Georgian food was my favourite. I was very embarrassed. I doubt that I would be back here but I am determined to try other Georgian restaurants in London as I am hoping to be able to find a decent one.

I went to Iberia on Saturday nigth without reservation and was seated rigth away. But after 10min the restaurant was full. To be safe you may have to call ahead.

The decor is great!!!

Every dish has very distinetive and unique flavor. Highly recommend the Shashlik. Lots of stuff for a Vegans that are all tasty . Ajapsandali was also my favorite.....delicious!

The service is wonderfully attentive.

Everything was unbelievably good and hopefully I will be back soon with a small group of friends, so we can sample even more of their great food and wine.

This place is absolutely fantastic. A real surprise on Caledonian Road. Great decor, and an exceptionally friendly host that's delighted to talk about Georgian food and culture. A real treat from start to finish, and reasonably priced.

The food is delicious. My girlfriend was concerned that there may be too much emphasis on meaty, bready dishes, and while these are certainly there if you want them, there are a great number of superb lighter dishes.

Highly recommended, and a must if you live in the area.

Definitely recommendation of going with a group of friends of family, so you can try a bunch of different dishes.

I am really want to go back to " Iberia " and order Khachapuri (cheese bread) to take whit me, because its soooooooooooo good !!!!

The waiter recommended to try spinach with khachapuri, but if you love cheese, save your self and just order the khachapuri.

The Ostry - was fantastic !!!! Borsch - beet root, potatoes, cabbage and other vegetables - this was really good, light and flavorful.

Staff was very helpful and super friendly. I really wish to "Iberia" all the best. I wish i had found this place earlier.

I went to Iberia with a friend last night. I have been to Georgia before and I must say- this is 'the' Georgian experience in London. The staff is warm, polite, and very helpful. The place is charming and the food is real, fresh and impecabbly served.

Definitely recommended. A very good value, plus a wide selection of Georgian wines.
