My friend Tina from Austria and myself have eaten a number of times at this fabulous restaurant. The food is delicious, beautifully presented, service excellent and the setting quiet and relaxed. All of the staff, including the manager Peter Bradley are friendly, helpful and determined to make your visit with them enjoyable.

I cannot disagree more with the review below!

Having now been to the Blue Door Bistro twice in the past two months, I have been astounded by the level of customer service, the quality of the cooking, the quality of the wine and the atmosphere.

Now I hate a busy restaurant where you can't hear your conversation or get impersonal service. I hate a restaurant where the staff are aloof and barely talk to you even when dumping a bread roll on your plate. I hate a restaurant that pretends to understand good food (by charging a high price) and then brings a mismatch of flavours with barely any food on the plate.

The Blue Door Bistro is none of the above. The food portions are very generous for the price, and the quality is very good... clever flavours and a very good menu. The fact that it's a hotel restaurant AND a boutique hotel at that, should alert people to the fact this is not going to be a cheap eat or drink. Now, the wine list is expensive but it's also expansive and a couple of the wines that are £30 - £40 are far better than some wines we've had for twice the price.

The staff are fantastic, and will engage in coversation as they did, welcomingly, with us, or leave you alone as they did with the two other couples today. Yes it was only three tables for lunch, so if you like buzzy, loud places, this isn't for you. They did have 100 people for afternoon tea though (but mercifully not all in the restaurant), so it's not an unpopular place!

We spent 5 wonderful hours there for lunch, and it was entirely our choice to take that long; it had nothing to do with the time it took to get the food to us, as previously suggested. Now one of my favourite "treat" places to eat in London.

I'm also going there for my team's Christmas dinner, and they've been hugely helpful in offering private dining and various extras/changes. I'm sure all 14 guests will be writing similar reviews after it.

Iin summary, it's may be a little pricey for some, but goodness it's worth it!
