Made in Italy (Marylebone)

I don't usually write reviews but this time I think I should. Went to Made in Italy (50 James Street) earlier this evening and must say THE WORST ITALIAN FOOD I have ever eaten in London. When we came in (group of 4) were told that there are no pizzas for at least another half an hour as their oven was not ready. We were starving so had no problem ordering something else. We ordered 1 starter and 4 pastas (usually Italian portions are quite generous and are more than enough to fill us up). It took 45 min for the starter to arrive looking very presentable and it was very nice. A few minutes later we asked waitress how long it would take for food to arrive and were told not more than 5 min. 15 min later and we are still at the table with no food (that's over an hour since we were seated) and an empty restaurant. After asking for a second time when are we going to eat the food arrived... i wish it didn't. We ordered Spaghetti alla Carbonara and 3 of Paccheri a Core e Mamma. Spaghetti hardly had any meat in it or anything really apart from spaghetti. 3 of the other dishes couldn't look more different from each other (even though they were the same!!!) the only thing they had in common was being smudged all over plates. My pasta had two thin slices of mushrooms a bit of meat and some pasta, my friend's dish had few pieces of meat but lots of mushrooms. And it's not just the presentation it DID NOT TASTE GOOD the portions were quite small!!! If it wasn't for a fact that we were starving + waiting for well over an hour + raining outside WE WOULD RETURN FOOD AND LEAVE. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!! Would NOT recommend!!!

There were four of us that went to Made in Italy last night. I have got to say it was one of the worst Italian restaurants I have been to in London. To start with we were put right at the back where there was no air conditioning and it was extremely hot. Secondly when we had actually ordered our starters they took around 45 minutes to actually get to the table. When they arrived they were very nice, that was the only good thing about the whole experience. The second course came quite quickly after but this course was such a disappointment, we barely ate any of the food. The staff were then rude as we were trying to pay the bill. I would never go back here and would certainly not recommend it to anyone.

I've been there a couple of days ago as we were close to bond street myself and some tourist friends and wanted to eat something italian. As a chef in italian restaurant and visited italy quite a lot,i'd say that the food was not that bad but neither good. Also the service was quite too slow, we order first and second plate and in the time between i could still finish two more first plates and still wait for the next one.As for the service, the first guy was pretty good but the second one was a disaster, even when we joked him about the cheese that he was putting on the pasta he gave us a weird look.Didn't like it there and we are not going back
