Having just moved into the area I was delighted to find this restaurant and even more delighted at the range of fresh seafood and fish. The pan fried tiger prawns in garlic butter were delicious and the fish pie better than I have ever tasted, do not miss the fries, they are to die for!. Although full, I couldn’t resist trying the sticky toffee pudding and I am glad I did (although I had to share it) The staff are really friendly and the bill, including service, for a really filling meal plus a bottle of wine, was also quite friendly at £61. Well worth a visit.

I first came to Winkles for a friends birthday in May and have never looked back since!

The food is really excellent, in particular the Tiger Prawns with chilli and ginger, the salmon fish cake and what can only be described as the awesome Espatada (i'll let you find out what it is when you go there!)

With the recent addition of a set menu (3 courses, wine and coffee...with wide choice, i might add!) for only £20, you simply can't go wrong!!

The biggest shame of the whole Winkles experience is that the restaurant is not located in the heart of the city (mind you, Roman Road is only 5 minutes in a cab from Liverpool Street) or the West End. if this was so, you wouldnt be able to book for months, the excellence really does deserve to be recognised!!

Any event, any evening, it simply satisfied every taste bud, highly...highly recommended!

My boyfriend and I have been coming here since the restaurant first open a couple of years ago - and it has only got better! The only downside is that more people don't know about it.

The food is excellent, as is the varied and impressive wine list. I would highly recommend the Thai Prawn Omelette to start and the Tiger Prawns with Shallot and Lemongrass - gorgeous!

The service is always fantastic, and it must be remembered that it is a seafood restaurant where everything is cooked from fresh, so if it's busy there may be a slight wait -but if you're out for a relaxing dinner, what's the rush anyway? If you want fast food, go to KFC!

All in all, a great night out and i would highly recommend it, if fresh, well-cooked seafood with a nice atmosphere is what you're looking for.
