I love this place. Used to go a thai in Harrow Wealdstone which again is good but not as good as Number One. i have been going for the last two years and can highly recommend everything. The trouble is that by reviewing this restaurant and extolling its virtues, I will increasingly find it hard to book a table!!

I've eaten here a few times now and they never disappoint. Excellent food, huge variety - the trick is to try a different dish each time as there are so many! - and really good value. Also excellent service. A little gem of a place!

The best Thai food I have ever eaten. Excellent service, courteous staff and most importantly, delicious and honest food, straight out of Thailand, and all this at reasonable prices. The menu is well balanced unlike some other places which pass off Thai food as being only spring rolls or thick and sweet red and green curries, ugh!
I am coming to a conclusion that it is only the BYB places which actually do an honest job of serving good food, like this one is or Alounka for Iranian food or Lahore Kebab for North Indian etc
Defintely going again even though it is a big trudge for us living in the east. Well worth the effort!

I have always been a lover of asian food - especially indian - howvever since discovering this fantastic place six months ago I have to confess I haven't had indian once as Number One Cafe wins every time! I I live 15 minutes away although I wish I lived closer as I'm sure the neighbours must love having such an excellent value for money restaurant serving up the tastiest and freshest food RIGHT on their doorstep. The fact that you bring your own booze is a result (off license next door). My partner and I went for the 1st time this year (after 4 weeks of dieting!) last saturday and stuffed ourselves for £30! - that included water and soft drinks.

Fab food, friendly service, clean and the added bonus that you bring your own booze - why go to another restuarant?

I've been going to Number One Cafe for over 10 years. I've seen it double in size from the modest working men's cafe it once was, to the fine, value-for-money establishment it is today. In all this time the quality of the food has remained tip top.
The dishes are authentic, spicy and made with fresh ingredients. I've been to the Blue Elephant in Fulham (a supposed flagship restaurant for Thai food) and honestly I thought the food in
Number One beat it hands down. Okay, its not plush inside, but its not pokey either. Bless em' - they even put candles on the table in the evening to give the place a a chilled, romantic atmosphere.
Hats off to the husband and wife team who run the place. I've been to South East Asia many times and this is a little piece of Thailand in the heart of West London. Apart from the usual Thai curries which are excellent try the Phad Key Mao or the Chicken Phad Prik. You' re in for a treat!

This is the best Thai food outside of Thailand. The place is a gem. Friendly staff, cheap food that doesn't stint on quality, no corkage if you want to bring your own booze - frankly, it's difficult to see how this place could be improved on. Okay, so it isn't plush, but it's clean, neat and pretty. Try the Phad See Iew. And try the Peek Gai Tod. And try the Khanon Jeeb. Who'm I kidding? Just try anything on the menu. You won't be disappointed.

This place is amazing. The best value thai food in london and probably the best tasting as well. Have never had a bad dish here - and I try a new one every time we go! Couldn't come more highly recommended. In fact - we have just ordered some take out for lunch.
