The Bird in Hand

Can't put my finger on it but this place feels unloved, if not unwelcoming. All the wood - bar, floor, tables, chairs - is a bit hard and dull, though I'm not sure a few scatter cushions would help much. Food looked good but wasn't inspired to stay long enough to try it. Bar staff were nice enough but not very clued-up on what was on offer. There are better pubs in the area.
