Kulu Kulu Sushi (Shelton St)

Not the best sushi place in London (especially in terms of freshness), but it's OK on a value for money basis.

The chefs have a stupid habit of putting hot food on the conveyor belt so that it eventually turns stone cold. I don't understand why they don't make hot food to order only as no one in their right mind is going to touch this.

I like the agedashi tofu, nasu goma and soft shell crab handroll. I only eat here because it is cheap and cheerful - nothing special. Don't expect the best or freshest sushi restaurant.

really nice little sushi bar, great food, cheap prices, lovely staff (all spoke english and were very friendly) I highly recommend it.

Quite disappointed with this place, to be frank. Neither of the staff on duty when I visited seemed to speak or understand English. We had to ask three times for drinks and various bits. It was a bit busy and one of the staff wanted my friend and I to move along one seat so another couple could sit down. He didn't ask or apologise, just nudged me and pointed at the empty stool next to me.

Food ranged from greasy and inedible through to pretty bland. The only dish I enjoyed to any degree was the aubergine.

Won't be going back.

Excellent Sushi here. Better when the chef is preparing and also better when busy as the food turnover is better. Always good to sit and watch a couple of revolutions of the belt and then start eating what is newly arrived. Superb hand rolls made to order, especially soft shell crab. Pricing is keen too.

I like this place. The food is fresh tasting and the variety of sushi, vegetable and other dishes is good. Agree with the other reviewer below on the hand rolls. Also the tempura hand roll are great! Nice relaxed atmosphere also. Good value for money.
