Kulu Kulu Sushi (Shelton St)

Having not had sushi before I searched for what past reviewers seemed to say was a good place. We were not disappointed. It was a really friendly and relaxing atmosphere. The food was good and just about all fresh (pea pods and pineapple excepted that nobody seemed to take). The hot dishes were hot, and the bill came to less than £15 a head, for 9 dishes plus warm sake, and on that we were full. We didn't rush the evening, and enjoyed every minute.

Absolutely brilliant. I cant recommend how good value and high quality the sashimi, handroll and ikura were. The place looks rather dated, but this is definitely substance over style. Dont be put off by the look of the place or the fact there are no japanese staff there - the chefs know what they are doing. I am not going back to Yo or Moshi Moshi on my break times!

Not the best sushi place in London (especially in terms of freshness), but it's OK on a value for money basis.

The chefs have a stupid habit of putting hot food on the conveyor belt so that it eventually turns stone cold. I don't understand why they don't make hot food to order only as no one in their right mind is going to touch this.

I like the agedashi tofu, nasu goma and soft shell crab handroll. I only eat here because it is cheap and cheerful - nothing special. Don't expect the best or freshest sushi restaurant.

really nice little sushi bar, great food, cheap prices, lovely staff (all spoke english and were very friendly) I highly recommend it.
