despite being busy the service was prompt. The food alas was some what over priced for mediocre steaks and oven chips and crab that was lost in chunks of coarse sandwich bread. The idea of eating kangaroo or kobe held no appeal so menu was infact narrow once stripped of novelty items. Pate and salad was excellent. We took part in pub quiz which posed daft questions which robbed the experience of any fun.wonderful building but will only stop for a drink next time.

A group of 6 of us went there (plus 2 kids) last Saturday. The experience was great. The staff were professional and efficient, the view of the river was breathtaking. The food was excellent (I had a 'proper' burger and it was delicions), my friend's steak looked yummy also, and grilled tiger prawns were awesome. The only downside was that the desert menu was not varied enough. It was mostly traditional very sweet, very heavy pub choice, but it was OK. So, two courses and wine and still under £25 per head. Definitely going again!

Went to The Mayflower for Sunday lunch with four other friends. Definitely worth booking a table in the restaurant section upstairs. Service was quick and efficient. I had a lovely Sunday roast, while two of my friends shared an excellent paella. Prices slightly higher than the average pub, but the food was well worth it.
