This place has grown from one shop doing mostly take-way to three shops including a proper fish restaurant in the decade and a half I have known it. This is a tribute to the standard of fish and chips, which is is still outstanding. The main problem is noise. The hard surfaces of the spartan restaurant bounce conversation around so that when it is even two thirds full you simply cannot have a conversation without shouting. As everyone else is also having to shout you still wont hear your companion's conversation. Stick to the excecllent take away service and save yourself from going deaf!

We (a german family of 3) expected to find a simple fish & chips shop, but we found a nice and clean restaurant with a superb variety of seefood dishes at very reasonable prices. The service people were friendly and patient with us aliens and gave good recommendations. We had delicious mussels in wine and tomato sauce as starters (no more hungry after that!) and the best fish (hake) fillets of our lives. We celebrated my birthday with a bottle of Chardonnay and will SURE be back next time we are in London!

Went to Fish Central for an impromtu dinner. The starters were perfect, sardines and scallops. Main I had the monk fish and my partner had the special which was fish in a prawn salsa dressing with spinach and mash - wow the taste was fantastic!! Will definitely return here again and soon. We had a drafty window table as the restaurant was full but the manager made a fuss and gave us complimentary drinks which was a nice gesture. I am also delighted to say they have lemon tart on the dessert menu which is a must!

after regulars at falkners fish bar kingsland road,we decided to try fish central. we were pleasantly surprised at the prompt efficient personalised this fantastic decorated restaurant had to offer. the food was flawless and that of the quality of west end restaurant. the owner was very careful to ensure that we return back to his restaurant.

The food is fine, the prices on the high side but the service is surly and devoid of charm. Avoid.

We visited this restaurant yesterday and were delighted with the experience. After complimentary fishcakes for appetisers we had anchovies and ravioli for starters followed by lemon sole on the bone and grilled skate. The portions were generous and the food delicious. There were loads of attentive and friendly staff and a lovely buzzing atmosphere. We are not at all surprised that the restaurant was full with queues forming from time to time throughout the evening. Booking is advised ! At around £40 including drinks this was very good value and we hope to return on our next visit to London.

Faultless fish and chips and as Italian run there are other great dishes and I even had a nice side salad.

The atmosphere is busy and friendly with a mix of old east enders, arty and young.

Service was quick and friendly.

Highly recommended.
