Could be great, but isn't. The fish and seafood were at best average; non-fishy stuff (I had steak and potato) was truly dreadful (medium-rare steak came tasteless, dry and cindered, the gravy had a film forming). The decor is a bit shonky - cheap, mismatched and tatty, but styled so that it should be smart (the room is light, the table cloths thick white linen). Service was a bit rough. And there was a TV! I asked if it was possible if it could be turned off but was told that this wasn't possible as a premiership game was on. There was also apparently some diners who wanted to watch it but they didn't seem to materialise. Just the worst, most low-rent and most unforgivable thing a restaurant can do. It's quite cheap though, so always the silver lining.

I went here for the first time tonight and thought the fish was excellent.....definitely at least a match in quality of the food for one of my favourite fish restaurants in London, Scott's in Mayfair, which I visit a lot.

I got a takeaway on a Friday evening at 9.30pm, I got saveloy, chips and curry sauce. I have to say was the WORST I have ever had. The curry sauce was lumpy, dark and tasted disgusting, should be illegal! The saveloy was soft and mushy like it has been heated in a microwave and the chips were undercooked! Disgraceful! Would never eat from here again if they paid me!

What a fantastic place to eat, The fish was fresh (We had the fish platter) and the service was friendly. The place was buzzing, cant wait to go again.

Disappointing last time. Again went for skate wing which was ok ish but clearly not fresh. So want decent chips round here... Not humanly possible in my recent experience!

Hope it's got better as last time the grilled plaice tasted ancient. I loved it back in the 90s and will go again but I don't believe all the fish on the menu is fresh though they claim it is.

A really fabulous find. Although set in a small shopping precinct, Fish Central rises far above it's fairly unprepossessing location. Really friendly and knowledgable staff, and well priced and tasty fish - the specials are well worth investigating. A really broad mix of customers from local ladies of a certain age dressed up to the nines to stray city workers and a handful of Hackney Hipsters.
The kind of mixed up clientele that you see on the continent, but rarely do in London. Straight in to my London top 10.
