What a fantastic place to eat, The fish was fresh (We had the fish platter) and the service was friendly. The place was buzzing, cant wait to go again.

Disappointing last time. Again went for skate wing which was ok ish but clearly not fresh. So want decent chips round here... Not humanly possible in my recent experience!

Hope it's got better as last time the grilled plaice tasted ancient. I loved it back in the 90s and will go again but I don't believe all the fish on the menu is fresh though they claim it is.

A really fabulous find. Although set in a small shopping precinct, Fish Central rises far above it's fairly unprepossessing location. Really friendly and knowledgable staff, and well priced and tasty fish - the specials are well worth investigating. A really broad mix of customers from local ladies of a certain age dressed up to the nines to stray city workers and a handful of Hackney Hipsters.

The kind of mixed up clientele that you see on the continent, but rarely do in London. Straight in to my London top 10.

Been here a few times, and the food has always been fresh and value for money. Pretty much no thrills, generous sized portions and very fresh (the main thing for a fish place).

I can't fault the place itself, its just a shame its in such a mediocre little square. That probably helps to keep the rent and therefore the prices down, but it kills the atmosphere.

But for a midweek fish dinner, definately worth going. Very affordable.

Suzie & Teddy a local couple took us to this restaurant a couple of years ago and we had delicious fresh Skate, Cod, Haddock, Plaice and chips. The meal was first class, We have returned on many occaisions enjoying up the fantastic service that George and his family offer. The atmosphere is very alive and buzzy.

I work next door to this place and so go regularly. It's great, and if you set your expectations correctly - quite brilliant.

Just had the sea bass special for £13.99. Two huge slabs of spanking fresh sea bass, crushed new potatoes and a fresh tomato salsa - delicious.

A free fishcake (amuse bouche?) is always given - and they're also very tasty.

One draw back is the noise - there are no soft furnishings of any kind - so the place sounds like madhouse if more than 6 people are eating.

Friendly owners/staff and good pricing also helps.

Go if you get the opportunity!
