This was our first time to Fish Central and i can't wait to come back again.
The food and service were both excellent. A very enjoyable evening.

Went there a few weeks ago with friends, and I can't wait to get back there again. yes it is expensive but the quality of the food is superb. I had the lobster and I must say for something so plain I haven't tasting anything like it utterly delicious it was. I went back agian but sadly there was no lobster, so I had to make do with some haddock it was nice but I wasn't so impressed, and with the service. So the moral of the story is to get there early to avoid dissappointment and a better service.

A nice place to go to when you have finished after a hard days work. However, it sometimes feel that you are in a cocktail mixed with posh snobs, and ultra-pikeys all mixed together. Which is kinda ok, until babies start crying, or people get overly loud. It gets so loud, that it's like you can't hear people you're with, and it gets uncomfortable. The staff are nice, they sometimes try and veer you away from what you want to eat toward what they recommend, even if it is gonna mean you 'taking a risk' with your evening dinner, hoping that you can actually rely on – or even believe what one of the waiters will tell you. They men serving are too fast, and unfortunately their aim to please is too intense, that anything involving poor food, dropped drinks, wrong drinks, and interruptions by ill-timed waiting should allow for more sincere apologies from head staff, rather than us leaving having them feeling that they have done enough to warrant charging that much for a meal of that average standard.

Just tried this restaurant (the take away part) and have to say it's definitley good value for money.
True, it may look like just another average fish & chippie, but don't be fooled by appearances. The fish is superior to anything else I've tried. It as the proper smell, full flavour and firm texture. Meat does not fall apart as in many other places, and pannier is what it should be - pannier, instead of half what you pay for by weight!
Thanks to its quiet location a little distance from all the usual City buzz, you can easily find seating in the small square outside, on indeed go for the restaurant in case of bad weather.
All in all - a superior F&C in the City, definitely worth a stroll once every now and again. Try and you won't be disappointed!

This has become one of favorite restaurants in London. The place has a very friendly neighbourhood/family atmosphere. The owner is always bringing little extras to the table, like salmon mousse or fish croquettes, to nibble on while we wait, at no charge. The prices are very reasonable, the fish is very fresh and superbly cook, although you will have a difficult time deciding on grilled, fried, or there signature matzo meal crust - all excellent. This isn't your typical greasy fish bar, nor is it a snobby restaurant. It is true that the acoustics leave something to be desired, but the food and congenial atmosphere more than make up for the need to shout to be heard.

What a find ! Went to this restuarant on the back of other reviews and was not disappointed. The food and service were both excellent. Best fish I've had since moving to London. Good value, would strongly recommend. Booking in advance is advisable.

This place has grown from one shop doing mostly take-way to three shops including a proper fish restaurant in the decade and a half I have known it. This is a tribute to the standard of fish and chips, which is is still outstanding. The main problem is noise. The hard surfaces of the spartan restaurant bounce conversation around so that when it is even two thirds full you simply cannot have a conversation without shouting. As everyone else is also having to shout you still wont hear your companion's conversation. Stick to the excecllent take away service and save yourself from going deaf!
