Whilst doing a spot of Chrimbo shopping yesterday,i decided to pop in to The Centre Page for a spot of lunch,
My previous memory of the place was was greasy thai food, but i was hungry and cold.
On entering the premises the aroma was amazing,as was the festive decorations.
To my (pleasant) surprise Greasy Thai food was off the menu,(since january).
It was so nice to go to a London Venue and get served traditional British food, instead of pretentious far eastern cuisine,
The bar service was outstanding, with a Wine Menu catering for every worldly taste.
The waitress took my order, something you don't see much of nowadays !!!
I ordered the "Beer Battered Fish", when it arrived, i was gobsmacked !! the texture and flavour was unlike anything i have consumed in my life.
On paying my cheque, i asked for the recipe of the batter, The Manageress assured me all the food on the menu is homemade.
The bar was busy even with a private function being catered in the downstairs restaurant.
I recomend this bar/restaurant to anyone who wants to get away from the normal slap-dash service you normally get in London.

I went for lunch here yesterday & was very surprised to discover that they have not served Thai food since January!
Quite embarrassing as I'd promised my guest Thai...
The food is now traditional pub grub and there's not an awful lot more I can say about it. I opted for a Chicken Jalfrezi which was unremarkable, as was the service.
I wouldn't recommend the Centre Page for anything other than a quick lunch with a friend & to be honest there are better places for that.
