the third time i've been, and i have to say it's all pretty good. and the flavours are quite individual.
the kimchee is good and spicy/tangy......stir fried squid was very tasty (so tasty in fact that we ordered a second plate)......seafood pancake is more like a cross between a pancake and an omelete, served flat (not rolled over) with the filling incorporated into the batter.......fish in seasoned soy was sweet and salty and nicely cooked......chicken and noodle stir fry was a little unexciting, but with leftover sauces from the other dishes quickly had some flavour introduced.
i haven't been to another korean, so i can't make a comparison for price. but 6 dishes and drinks amounted to £40 (inc tip), which i think for london is about average. anyway, the food is good and the service is friendly. what more can one expect?

Starter of spicy beef soup was excellent and the BBQ main dish was pretty good too although not a large portion. The night I was in the place was very busy (predominantly Koreans) but the service was still good.
It's not cheap - a couple of beers each and one or two side dishes pushed the price up to £30 which did seem pretty expensive for simple-ish food albeit in a very pleasing atmosphere.

KimChee is one of the best places to eat Korean food in London, good value for money and the food is just amazing. We lived miles away from Golders Green but we always go back.
If you like spicy food, please try the spicy beef soup. Trust me, it is the best in the world. I once had it for starter and had it again for main course. Just so tasty that you would love to know how they manage to make it so yummy.
The service is ok but you need to book in advance. You may get a table without booking if you are lucky. We went there once without booking and they managed to fit us in.

Had read good (value) reviews of KimChee in TimeOut and was not disappointed. We arrived ealy-ish, about 8, and the place was empty except for a lone table of Korean's but this changed as more people and Koreans filled up this small restaurant quickly. We ordered a starter each, some sides (including "Kim Chee") a couple of Korean beer and the BBQ to share. All came efficiently and were attentively served. We paid under £40 for 2 including drinks so the value was good. I suspect if you were a large eater the price would quickly increase but we had a great evening with fresh and well presented food for a great price. I recommend KimChee.

Compare to many other Korean restaurant that I have been to this one is rather expensive. The waiters were pretty nice(when we eventuallty managed to get their attention) but we still spent over forty minutes waiting for our food to arrive. when it di we found out that one of the starters we have odered was missing. we enquired and were told that they didn't have it in stock. I wonder why they didn't let us know earlier. The starter portions were a good size although a
little bland but the main courses left us feeling hungry even after spending £40 for dinner. Korean people and some others (probably regulars) were all fed before us even though they arrived later. I think this place could do with a visit from Gordon Ramsey.

I'm a big fan of Korean food so I had to try this one out. It's a small, cosy place. The staff weren't the warmest.
The food, though, was amazing. The bibimbap (mixes rice dish) was especially good, so was the yukejang (soup). As good as any food you'd find in Korea!
Unfortunately, none of the extra side portions, normally free in Korea, were complimentary. Pricy place but the food lived up to it.
