Cool place for an after work beer and bite to eat. Nice atmosphere and space. There are some really nice dishes. It's got an American/Italian thing going on. It works.

I can't believe that last review, I love this place, they are always really helpful and on top of the game as regards service, usually. You may have to wait a little for food and drink at peak times, but it's a laid back place, I think Lenoir is missing the point, the food and atmosphere are unique and the people working there do WANT to work there as I see it and I frequent at least a couple of times a week.
I recommend a visit to all and sundry and just click with the staff and you will be pleasantly surprised. Great Cocktails BTW!

Just like its sister venue Redhook, about the only person associated with this catastrophe that deserves a pat on the back is the interior designer. No question, Giant Robot is a great space, with a layout that has a ton of potential interesting. Unfortunately, it’s not a gallery space and is seeking to make a profit as a bar and a restaurant.
Or is it an American diner. Or is an Italian snack bar. Sadly, by the time the mostly average food hits your table some 45 mins after you order it, you and your friends just won’t care.
At least Giant Robot’s price point is a bit more palatable that Redhook. We went for brunch, and again the dining experience was memorable for service that was beyond incompetent. With only two other tables dining in the whole place, you should not have to wait 25 minutes for 2 bloody marys. These are simple rules to go by, which myself and my friends do not think is too much to ask. Just to be specific, the staff are indeed very friendly. Its just that they are not very good or efficient. The blame should really lie with the management and owners, who seem to staff these places full of potential, with guys that can’t get the job done.
Food-wise, the breakfast was average. Ultimately no complaints, but when you set yourselves up across the road from Modern Pantry and Bistrot Bruno Loubert, the bar is high, and even if you are not aiming for a similar league, you almost should be serving better than average food out of respect. I was initially delighted by the concept of an American diner “plus” where you had some further options. Particularly as there are so many good breakfast options around, including the aforementioned Modern Pantry. But the myriad of menus are just confusing and I think Giant Robot will struggle to carve out an identity for itself.

Really like it, wish there were more places like this in London. Great laid back atmosphere and decor, good food (if a little small on the portion size), good bar man making the cocktails, recommend it.

Went last week during half term with our kids and it was fantastic from start to finish. The best way to get a real feel for what is on offer is order lots of bits from the menu and be prepared to share with everyone. The service what outstanding, attentive without hovering. A great feel to the place with nice attention to detail, we will be back for more meatballs definately.

Really bad. Probably the most over complicated menus I have ever seen. All food comes in small tasting bowls but you really can't get an idea of what will feed your group. Waiting staff also weren't too helpful with expanding on this either.
The wine list is also pretty advanced, so don't expect to see too much that's familiar. Unless you are pretty clued up on your Italian wines.
When the food did come..it was average at best, with portion to price being way out of line.
On the pluses...the place is pretty smart and the cocktails are pretty good. The no cocktail menu idea added some variety.
Overall: Not that great, wouldn't rush back.
