We had a really disappointing experience at Zen China. The food was of a really poor quality, and it was massively over-priced. We ordered three dishes and rice. The beef was of a very strange texture (to the extent that my wife couldn't bring herself to eat any of it); the duck main course had 3 or 4 very small shreds of duck, plumped up with masses of beansprouts; and the greens were quite tasty, but small (4 pieces), and with a strange gloopy sauce. At least the rice was OK! And it was very overpriced - the above 3 dishes cost £12 to £16 each. The service was quite friendly, and it's in a good location (views of the Houses of Parliament across the river), but unfortunately these weren't enough to outweigh the poor food and high prices.

Not impressed at all. Booked a table for 4 on a Saturday night, was assured that I would get a window table but didn't! Service was very slow (3 hours in total in the restaurant). The bill was way too high for the quality of the food. We were overcharged as well by about £150 but the waitress didn't think it would be appropriate to apologise for the mistake. Instead she asked for a tip when we paid with a credit card even though the service (12.5%) was already on the bill!! When I got home, I realised that the amended bill was still wrong and that we had been overcharged anyway by £50. Not impressed!

Dined with my wife on Thursday night. Chose the tasting menu on a deal through Groupon. What a fantastic venue with stunning views of Parliament and Big Ben. A large, spacious dining area with efficient, courteous staff. The meal was leisured but not overly long. The 6 courses were among the finest Chinese food I have ever eaten and with the Groupon deal an bargain. Of particular note were the duck pancakes and especialy the fried sea bream fillets in a hot sauce. I will happily eat at Zen next time I visit London. I thoroughly recommend it, especially if you get one of the many deals available.

Decided to visit this establishment before going to the opening of the BBC Proms last Saturday.
Unfortunately our group had a rather disappointing meal. The service slow and cold and the food a little bland.
We will not be returning.

This was the WORST restaurant I've been to in a long time. Slow service, overpriced and the food was bad. The staff were incompetent unhelpful and rude. I made the mistake of ordering from the set menu and the main course was horrible. They also charged us £9.60 for beansprouts!

This was my third time dining in Zen China Restaurant on 16th June. The food was fantastic and unique, most importantly healthy, no MSG. And we were also told that there is very strict use of salt, sugar and oil. That is why I have chosen to dine in Zen China Restaurant three times in the past two months!
Not only just that, the eating environment was very comfortable and spacious! Most importantly you can enjoy the most beautiful veiw of the Big Ben and Thames River while you are enjoying the delicious food!
What else you are looking for? Good food, beautiful music and magnificent view!
I strongly recommend you come and taste and see it yourself!
