I loved the decor, I loved the food, I loved the service. It was a good surprise and for our 5 guests it was a pleasant. The waiter was helpful and suggestion on what to order was great. La Sophia is a hidden gem tucked away. Will be returning soon.

Took my boyfriend here for lunch after a spell at Portobello Market and advised the waiter on arrival that I had signed up for the a la carte offer on this website. However what we received was the set lunch becuase the waiter was not aware of the difference. Very disappointing because the a la carte menu looked great and the food that we had was lovely, just a shame about the service!

We had the set lunch menu and a glass of wine each at La Sophia. We had a wonderful time: the food was exquisite – truly delicious – and the service impeccable: warm, friendly, charming and efficient. And great value too! Look forward to returning

Absolutely wonderful. My boyfriend and I had the perfect night out in this small, local establishment just 15 minutes' walk from our front door. The decor is lovely; it is intimate and romantic, in a moroccan style that suits the location perfectly. The service was friendly and charming, and the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing.
I'm vegetarian, and when I ordered aubergines to start and lentils for the main course I wasn't expecting much, but I was blown away by the intense flavours and aromas and surprised by the beautiful presentation. My boyfriend had pigeon for the starter and sirloin for the main, and I haven't seen him so overjoyed after a meal in a long time; we both left feeling like we were on cloud nine! One more impressive thing to note: our budget couldn't stretch to it, but they offer Kobe beef as a starter!
Truly inspiring stuff all round. We're going to recommend this place to everyone - take advantage of the discounts while you still can, because you're never going to eat this well for so little money again.

Excellent dinner here the other day- exactly the kind of local restaurant one hopes will thrive, such a better dining experience than a bland chain restaurant.
Goat's cheese souffle, Lamb main and the chocolate souffle were especially good, but all dishes were well made and enjoyable.
If you use one of the online discounts then the meal comes in very reasonable (£25 a head for 3 courses inc wine and tip)

We went for dinner at La Sophia last night, after reading a number of reviews and they weren't wrong at all. Lovely local neighbourhood restaurant, friendly service and good food. We had escargot and wagyu beef steak tartare to begin with. Normally wouldn't go for the wagyu beef (it was £39 for the starters!) but we had the 50% discount. The steak tartare was really good, melts in your mouth, though slightly spicy for my boyfriend. He then had the tournedos with foie gras which was served rare, the way the French cook their steaks, which was again really lovely. I had the lamb cutlets with garlic mash - again, very yum. Finished it off with a chocolate souffle served with vanilla ice cream and tart tartin. The souffle was excellent, not sweet which worked well with the ice cream. The tart tartin was about the only average dish we had. The selection of wine was limited but we went for the St Emilion which was again, fantastic at £32. All in all, a very enjoyable meal, top quality and very friendly service. Totally recommended and if you live in the area, please support this local restaurant!

This is the second time we have visited this restaurant and yet again we were not dissappointed. The food was superb, the staff very friendly, professional and helpful, Olivier the Maitre D' was charming! We had an 8 month baby with us and they even provided a "meal" for her! The scallops were delicious, the lamb melted in your mouth and the chocolate fondant was to die for! Can't wait to go back.

la sophia was a very good surprise to us, as we came in we were greeted with a warm smile from the waiter, we had the crab and rabit as a starter, halibut and lamb for mains, the food was really good, I was even surprise to find this place in Ladbroke grove, the waiter (herbert) was very good with an extremely professional manner and as we were leaving he introduce the chef and the owner (ali) .
Well recommended

My wife and I visited La Sophia last night and we were extremely disappointed with the food served to us.
My wife's Fois Gras was absolutely awful . My pan fried lamb cutlet was tasteless.
This was poorly presented inferior food and if the restaurant wishes to add to the small number of dinners seated then I believe they need to take a good hard look at themselves. Whether it be with a 50% discount or not this really was a horrendous eating experience.
