TimeOut

Guy Dimond - 4/5

Friday, July 09, 2010 - The ten or so ice-cream flavours transport you straight to Italy: chestnut, hazelnut, even the liquorice-hint of fennel and pine nut. Smooth and perfect-textured, just as they should be - unless you order the rice gelato, which has an interesting, almost crunchy texture. Plan B is the sorbets. Blackberry, melon, peach, even espresso - all appealing choices. The best is still to come: the granitas.

Love, love, love! Very easily missed down this side street. I believe it belongs in same family as Bocca di Lupo. Such a sweet little place with great knowledgeable staff.

The ice-cream is simply gorgeous and I love all the unique flavours I've tried. Ricotta and Sour Cherry is amazing! The chocolate sorbet is so creamy it tastes like proper ice-cream. The blood orange sorbet is another favourite. The only criticism is that personally the granitas are a bit sweet for me. I appreciate that they only have limited flavours and change them according to what produce is best eg. blood orange. You pay for the quality and this can be tasted in the product.

There is a little deli area at the back with some interesting items. Limited stools with bar seating. Am looking forward to treating myself more this summer!

I have to agree with the previous review.

The gelato is good and the flavours are different and surprisingly tasty (I tried the ricotta dn honey and it was really smooth and silky), however prices are way too steep! I had two scoops and paid £4.50!!!

Had a quick look at the other food they have for sale and that also seemed like a proper rip-off. Will only go back when I win the lottery...

i went there yesterday night as a friend of mine told me about this new gelato shop, and, being italian and fond of gelato, I decided to try it (there are not many places where to find good gelato in london).

Well, the gelato is good, but terribly over-priced. I paid £3 for the smallest cone I have ever had in my life. When I was given the cone, I could not believe it was that small!

Monday, November 08, 2010 - The granitas were particularly good. The blood orange and the burnt almond really stood out, their grown-up flavours packing a punch. I decided to go for a two flavour in a cup (always a cup) and chose Fig Leaf and the Pear, Cinnamon and Ricotta gelato. Both were beautifully creamy yet very delicate, almost too delicate. I adore the dense, earthy flavour of sheep ricotta so would have liked more of this and I couldn't really detect the cinnamon. The fig leaf gelato was also quite modest but had a fresh, clean taste.

Sunday, July 04, 2010 - The gelati are pretty unique rather than just offer a standard selection (such as stracciatella or fiore di latte), there are combos such as ricotta, coffee and honey (which was excellent) and avocado & honey (which was a little off kilter, was a little sour). What I really enjoyed however, were the sorbets, the melon in particular tastes just like frozen cantaloupes, sweet, sugarly, stringly and fresh, just what one needs to cool off really. Even better were their granitas, we tried the watermelon, icy, syrupy and quite literally chipped frozen watermelon. The only things that disappointed were the cannoli.
