Had many meals at this restaurant and no complaints at all.
Staff are friendly and helpful without being 'in your face' while you are eating. Food is always good, with particularly spectacular dosai! My good lady and I usually spend about £30 without drinks, and go home stuffed.

A disaster, really. I am sorry for the waiters, whose attentive service is negated by the monstrous incompetence of the chef. I visited the restaurant with my wife, and we ordered two sampler plates. Out of the several dishes sampled, *not a single one tasted good*. Supermarket Indian food beats Sagar’s offerings hands down. Avoid this place.

This used to be a good restaurant but now the food has deteriorated and the prices have risen. The prices bear no relation to value. The dishes are not individually made and are lukewarm and lacking subtlety.

We wanted to grab a bite before a film at Cineworld, Hammersmith and chose Sagar following recommendations on Twitter. We have tried several south indian places, from the authentic ones in the lanes of Wembley to ones that cater to the western palate like the ones around Percy Street, W1. Actually I think Sagar may have a branch there too...
Anyway the Hammersmith branch was pretty good in my opinion. We ordered a potato boonda starter to share, two mains including one massive paneer paper dosa and two nimbu paanis (lemon drink).
The nimbu paanis were amazing - you could tell fresh lemons had been used. Both dosas were good although in the paneer dosa, they were scrimping on the paneer instead overloading on the potatoes which defeats the purpose of ordering a 'paneer' dosa.
Other than that, it was a good meal. Attentive waiters and although not quite as cheap as some other good vegetarian south india fare you find in London, it is reasonably priced.

I recently visited Sagar in Hammersmith and I had a lovely time there. I am indian and my partner is south indian and if he enjoyed the food then it must be good!!
The one thing that really surprised me was that being a pure vegetarian restaurant it was quite busy! I went at Saturday Lunch time and it was a good mixture of crowd with some indians, some english and a good mixture of people which shows that good vegetarian good is favoured by all!
I thought the restaurant was good value for money as we ordered two starters, two mains and two drinks costing £22.00 ish which i think is not so bad for london prices!
The food was of good quality, good portion size and i throughly enjoyed it
Will be coming back again to try something else on the vast choice of menu it was very difficult to decide what to eat.
Would def recommend.

The food was very disappointing. My vegetable dish had all the cheapest vegetables; just carrots, potatoes and peas. It looked very unappetising and I didn't enjoy it all. I will never go back. Service was also slow.

On several occasions we have found this restaurant to be very good in all departments (food, service, price, ambience, etc.). I don't believe all the negative comments that I've read in previous reviews on this site: it seems that someone is waging an unfair campaign against Sagar.

Went to this restaurant on Saturday with my family including two protesting children not keen on vegetarian anything. It was a triumph. Good looking dining room with attractive bronzes, friendly staff, busy with a good atmosphere. Most importantly, food: a lot of stuff which was as good as anything I ate as a child in the Far East where high quality South Indian food is widespread. Dosai beautifully fresh and crisp (and the size of a bazooka), puffy hot puris wolfed down by the children, superb paneer curry and lentil dishes, beautiful coconut chutney to accompany, great lassi. Spice levels lower than expected which was good for the kids. Four of us stuffed for less than £70 including dessert.
Another winner for King Street alongside Shilpa and Indian Zing.

I have to say that I was incredibly disappointed. What a let down. Been here in the past and ate dosa's, they've been ok. There's a but!!!
Went there tonight and had some additional mains and a Mysore masala dosa. The food was just awful. The dishes were over cooked, full of masala and hardly any vegetables. £50 down the drain. Yuk, I feel uggggh! Im not going back ever.
