I rarely comment on restaurants as everyone is allowed an 'off night' now and then but as a business traveller, eating regularly in the Brentford/ Chiswick / Hammersmith corridor, this was the worst experience I have had in a long time.

I love eastern food, but the quality presented at Fat Boys Brentford was exceptionally poor.

That aside, the staff were absolutely incredulous in their indifference to their customers. I was neither welcomed into or out of the establishment. Menus and wine were unceremoniously dumped on the table with no conversation.

Also the overall price was substantially overpriced for the experience and quality.

The place was quiet with mostly single business diners and a few couples but locals were noticeable by their absense. They must feel the Premier Inn next door is a godsend.

Do yourself a favour and don't waste your time here - get a taxi to the excellent Vietnamese places on Hammersmith High Street. Or eat in the basic Premier Inn canteen. The food's better!

Until about a month ago, we lived on Brentford Dock - making Fat Boys our nearest restaurant. In the seven years we lived round the corner, we probably visited about a dozen times... largely on the basis that "it can't still be as bad as it was last time... can it..?" Alas, it always was. Not that the food is exceptionally poor (it's not - some of it's pretty reasonable) or the service is dreadful... it's all just over-priced and all desperately inconsistent. The restaurant's speciality seems to be getting orders wrong... annoying if you're eating on the premises, but infuriating if you've ordered a take-out (and manage to get home and kick off your boots before you discover the mistake). Still... it's popular enough, and with an evidently monied crowd (witness the queues of Mercs and Beamers blocking up the road outside every Friday and Saturday night...), so they must be doing *something* right... just never during any of the times that *I* visited... *sigh*
