Recently visited this restaurant as a guest at a party hosted by a friend. It was a good job I wasn't paying for it as the service, food and the ambience of the place was unacceptable. The food was not served on time and when it did arrive was cold. There was not enough food or plates to cater for the guests. I probably won't go back again or recommend to anyone else.

I went to Shad Indian in London Bridge for a end of term meal with my partner. Had a great meal. The dinner was top quality and the Nazakat is a personal favorite! Service was friendly and attentive as always.

A very pleasant experience

The restaurant was not busy - only 4 tables with customers on. Took 4 requests and me to pick up bag and walk out of door before they finally took order. There were more staff working than customers and each of them were doing things but paying no attention to customers or taking any responsibility when a customer talked to them - laying tables and looking at the till seem the most popular tasks for them. Food had still not come out 1 hour after ordering. When chased (more than 3 times) they didn't seem to believe this was a problem and said it was a standard amount of time to wait. I complained to the manager who told me that the more time I held HIM up by telling him of our frustrations, the longer our meals would be - given that he wasn't cooking or serving, I really didn't understand why me talking to him would have had this effect. When the receipt came there was a £5 non-optional service charge added and no apology. I would NOT recommend anyone this restaurant to anyone. The girls on the table next to us agreed when we complained that the service was unacceptably slow.

A friend and I went to the SHAD, and were impressed firstly with the cleanliness and smartness of both the restaurant and the staff. The menu seemed extensive, the food we ordered (starters, mains, naans, papadums) was great; my curry was very tasty with lots of meat - I chose a chicken Korahi. The service was attentive and the price reasonable. Finally, the toilet was really clean.Overall we were both very pleased with the meal, and will happily visit again; it's easily one of the best restaurants in London.

we have eaten at the Shad (formerly the Shard) three times now and always had beautifully cooked food served in the most attentive and polite way.

The subtlety of the currying in individual dishes is outstanding and the value for money is incredible! I would thoroughly recommend the Shad to all those who enjoy really excellent Indian food.

We're not coming back! Firstly, our drinks were disappointing, how hard is it to get a glass of coke and a glass of OJ right? My coke was flat and my sister's OJ taste diluted. The garlic king prawn starter only served 2 prawns with each one cut in half and priced at £6.10 it was also far too salty and over done. The main meal wasn't too bad but could have been a lot better. The service wasn't great but it wasn't a terrible experience because they were not rude. One waiter came to our table and asked if he could take our orders, just when we started to speak without a word he turned away and walked over to his colleague. The food was piping hot so that's the only credit I'll give them, although we had to wait quite long for our food they're forgiven for that because the food was hot. The rice was nice but we think they bought the garlic naan bread from M&S from across the street only because we have eaten so many from M&S at home that we can taste and see it's exactly the same. Other restaurants would have their naan breads that look and taste freshly baked. The chicken was not tender, it was overdone which makes me believe it was pre-cooked.

The 3 course meal at that price was mouth watering, a great deal of thought and hard work has been applied. Firstly compliments to the chef and the whole team for the great service. Me and my friends enjoyed throughly our little get together. The decor, friendly staff and the yummy food will definitely take us back for more. I would highly recommend this place for party's (birthdays, engagements) as they have another private room. Great experience.

We had an utterly horrendous experience here. The menu was run of the mill and uninspired, the food mediocre and cold, and the service patchy - we had to ask 3 times for water.

Worst of all, however, was their attitude when we tried to use one of the 'taste' cards which, according to the website, should have got us 2 for 1 at this restaurant. We said that we would like to use the card at the time of booking, and when we turned up. However, when the bill came not nearly enough had been deducted. When we informed the waiter we were told that the discount was only valid on a specific combination of dishes. As no-one had mentioned this to us and it was not written down anywhere we asked if we could have the discount as specified on the website. The staff were unbelievably rude, flatly refused and even made us go to the bar to look at the website - which only confirmed what we had said in the first place. There followed a long and embarrassing argument where the head waiter or manager was extremely rude to us. He eventually agreed to take a little bit more off, but the whole experience was completely dire.
