Lisa Markwell - 7/10

Sunday, July 31, 2011 - Mains follow fast: there's little variation (unless you come on a Friday, when Special Iranian Stew makes an appearance). It's all about the kebab: lamb or chicken. Rice and salad, or bread and salad. Edited choice is great when it works and at Behesht, it works. The chicken, whether on or off the bone, is succulent and tender; the lamb, minced or cubed, likewise. Each dish comes with white rice and a cursory salad, plus a flame-blistered tomato that mushes up nicely with the meat and rice...So Behesht proved worthy of the recommendation. It's never going to win any haute cuisine awards but it's very good at Persian food.

Ordered a VIP room for 20 people.. and all we got was a room which was so cramped, that i felt like i was sitting in a jail instead of a restaurant. After talking to the waiter and insisting on moving to a different place, we were given a place which was better than the VIP room and was available to anyone. The waiter started an argument and did not really wanted us to move from the VIP room, but eventually we were moved to a different place and waited for the food. The food was to a satisfactory level but would highly recommend the manager to train his/her staff more.

A very bad example of a proper restaurant, the tables are so close to each other,

The service is so bad, the waiters are all rushing all over the place, they just want you to wolf down the food and get out...

The food is avarege, I've been there 2 times, every time have been disapointed more , the chicken kebabs are too dry ,no wonder why the foods are so cheap....the starters are from very low quality,

after all it's a very very bad example of persian food,

An awful restaurant experience.

Whilst the food is generally good, the lack of any kind of service and very cramped seating completely ruins any meal.

We had a table for 8 booked many days inadvance. Upon arrival we were shown to a table for six with two additional chairs tacked on to one side. The aisle we so narrow that the chairs had to be moved each and every time someone wished to pass by. We refused to sit at this table and after an argument we were shown to any additional room which had numerous tables that could be combined into one to accomodate all of us comfortably.

We were given six menus and told to share as they didn't have anymore even though we requested more and could see dozens more in a pile across the room. 10min later we were asked to order the entire meal as the kitchen was 'very busy.' The starters arrived first, before our drinks, within about 10minutes which is surprisingly good. The food was tasty and portions healthy, however within few minutes our main course also arrived and was literally being thrown on to the table at the same time as our drinks we served. With such large plates and very little space we were forced to clear plates and pass them back to the idle waiters ourselves numerous times.

The skylight over us began to leak half way through the main course so we were forced to move tables to a very small table where 4 chairs either side touched to create very cramped seating, especially when eating. The new table we under an A/C unit that also had a leak and dripped on to us.

The 1.5hrs we spent there was clearly the worst restaurant meal I have ever had not in terms of the food, purely the service and atmosphere.

Overall: good food but shocking service.

Feedback: get better staff, train them!

Food is bad compared to decent persian restaurants and thats why its cheap.

Tacky decor and music. Just go there if you are hungry and forgotton your wallet.

Don't expect a service as they don't know what it means.
