I had my birthday at Behesht, I ignored all the comments down below and I really do regret doing so (should have had my birthday at pizzahut). First of all, we came in a group of 20 and they gave us a very crammed place. My friends gave the waiter my birthday cake to serve. Drinks for 2 pounds!? I mean I can get it for 50p. Anyways, the service was very slow and the waiter was very rude and only spoke little English. Our food was thrown on the table and had to sort our self out what dish belonged to who. So then when the waiter brought the birthday cake he throw it on the table and my birthday cake got ruined slightly!
I loved the food it was amazing but these staff should be trained and the place needs a make over. If this was done I think it could win many awards!

I visited Behesht with my wife who is Iranian. I ordered chicken, and kebab which was not cooked well and still red inside, but managed to plough through, but she could not complete her food 'Fesenjan' as it tasted so bad and the chicken smelled really bad. She told me that it was nothing like the real dish. The waiter wasn't so bad so we decide to leave a couple of pounds tip for him, but I was furious when I got home and realised they charged us a 'service charge' of £2.40. The place was crammed and they only played music a few minutes before we left. Not going here again, and will even be sending a complaint to trading standards.

Went to have dinner there on a Tuesday night ... the waiters were unfriendly and we were sat at a very cramped table and chair. The service was slow. Unlike other similar restaurants, we weren't offered any complimentary salad or dips with bread. The koobideh was tasteless. Very dissappointing. We also had to pay a service charge and expected to leave a tip!

I have been to Iran twice, and despite Behesht being overwhelmingly 'brown', I think that the decor and setting represents the great country of Iran very well. Out of the handful of times I have been there, there weren't many where it got overcrowded, which may be a problem for the cramped tables and chairs.
In terms of food: top marks. The servings are very generous and are guaranteed to fill you up. Quality is commendable, especially the meat.
The waiters might need to cheer up a bit, and the smoking area should be closed off completely from the non-smoking area or else the point is defeated. Either way, these flaws are only superficial.
Overall, great restaurant.

Behesht .! food not a very good advert for the name as it really is the worst persian food i have ever had.
the service is very slow and the koobideh was like the ones we do at home under the grill and it smelt of plastic and stale fat. chicken was so dried that i had to wash it down with the dogh that also was very tasteless and bland . overall a big waste of our hard earned cash .wasnt our first time there but will be certainly our last.
maybe we give jahanm a try next time.

I remember the early days when behesht first opened and it was great food and great service. Unfortunately service is now very bad and it is very cramped inside. \i would recommend that they focus on service to compliment the food and if its busy well thats tough people should reserve but to compromise your quality of food with bad service and cramped space makes no sense! The food is amazing though and great value for money. Starters and all fresh and meat is excellent. JUST PLEASE SORT OUT SERVICE!

being iranian, I am always trying to find an excellent and authentic persian cuisine. Behesht ticks all the boxes for me. Starters are a dream, Salad Olivieh with bread is by far the best combinationn along side the paneer sabzi. Clay oven baked bread is served hot and soft. A tip is to eat it before it goes cold and hard in the centre, nevertheless a real taste of the bread you get in Iran. main courses are delicious and good value. Behesht's Koobideh is bar far the best I have ever tasted in the world. The meat is tender, juciy and lip licking. portions are massive which is a good thing because you can take it home and have amazing persian food at home. Service is good, I have been to Behesht well over 20 times, and only once did i have a problem with the waiter who forgot my order, however the problem was dealt with quickly and within 5 minutes i got what I ordered for. Atmostphere is great, decor is outdated but it still paints a vivid picture of Iran, past and present.
I would thouroughly recommend this restaurant.

I have been here a few times now and albeit the service is quite abrupt the food is excellent. I would suggest you go with an open mind as regard to the service and an empty stomach as the food proportions are mammoth. The quality of food is also good especially for the price good value for money.
The decor is overwhelming and a bit tired, but thats what give this place the charm many admire. One of my guest said that 'it doesnt feel like we are in london' and to me thats what a restaurant should do, give you an atmosphere to match the cuisine.
I will definately be going again.
