Absolutely awful - coming from an Englishman who has been brought up in East London. Listen to other bad reviews, they speak the truth. I am ashamed for the Japanese owner and I wasted a few £100s for nothing. Not all 'famous' people who have visited it have the finest taste buds on earth. Do not waste your time/effort/money/space on this place.
Lots of good Japanese restaurants in London...definitely not this one. It may be argued that Yo! Sushi can be even better than this restaurant.

The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. Food is also nice, but wine by the glass is rubbish. Interior design is interesting, especially on the way to the WC - black and sparkly, almost extra-terrestrial, with the cosy function room downstairs. Discount offered is definitely a help in these austerity times. Keep it up!

I was very excited about dining in this restaurant, at first glance it looked edgy, fresh and exciting. But looks can be deceiving.
Firstly, the two of us entered the place which seemed fairly unoccupied yet surprisingly noisy. I wasn't sure if we were being led downstairs into a strip club or a nightclub, but we arrived at a little confined room surrounded by fishtanks which was very loud indeed due to a large table of fully grown 'chavs' drinking and barking at nearly full volume. A nice quiet couple beside us looked as distressed as ourselves at the situation. We decided that we needed to move somewhere else and the staff kindly accommodated this (otherwise we would have left). Not surprisingly, the couple beside us then followed our example. The new room (next door) was nice and spacious, not to mention quiet.
The service was nice but perhaps a little over the top and unnecessarily pretentious as we were served by two many different people including a guy in a suit. Because of this It almost seemed like some kind of surreal themed gangster experience rather than cool, slick and sophisticated.
The food was well presented and well prepared but the portion sizes were insubstantial (to be kind), especially at those prices. Our sushi roll for £12.50 was no more than a mouthful. Our main sizes were totally inadequate, probably not even the size of an equivalent (reasonably priced) starter. For £15+ each I would have expected much more. We didn't bother with dessert and left knowing that this would be our one and only Kyashii experience. Unfortunately, this place is nothing like it could be.

The setting is nice - especially the room with the fish tank, however the food was absolutely awful, and the price they charge even worse. I could not believe what we were being served - and how much it costs. Turned out to be £50 a head - a soft drink was £4.50 and cocktails £10! The ribs which were literally boiled ribs with a drizzle of sauce, the chicken was the same as what we had on skewers, the beef fillet had an awful sauce on it that tasted foul. I never write bad reviews but this time I had to - management need to up the standard of food to be able to charge the ridiculous amounts they do - they want to be like the standard of Hakkasan but they are no where near....if you are planning to go - dont! Or prepare to be disappointed!

I've had the pleasure of going to Kyashii a couple of times now. One word: AWESOME.
The dining experience is fantastic, they have some very special private rooms there too, including one surrounded by fish tanks built into the wall. Simply fantastic including the lighting.
Food quality - excellent. Food variety - excellent. Service - excellent. Cocktail Bar - prob just about the right size as its intimate but roomy enough to breath and spread out. Great cocktail list too.
I also seriously recommend speaking with the sommelier as well. Talk about passionate and knowledgeable!
A lot of this business I guess is attention to detail, they've done that and done it well.
If you're looking to impress a date, a business colleague, friends, family.. then this has to genuinely be on the list of venues.

I celebrated my 30th B'day here this month, and from going through the booking procedure to my whole group (in excess of 20) being personally escorted over to our next venue to make sure we got in ok, this restaurant/bar has to be one of the best of its kind in London.
The food is amazing and I recommend that you try and book dinner in 'The White Fish tank Room'. It's like Nobu Berkeley without all the ponce's and arrogance.
The staff are some of the most helpful I've ever encountered and went that one step further to make sure my guests and myself were having the best time possible.
Thank you guys for a 30th birthday to remember.

Design is great!!! I loved the place and the atmosphere. Bar was great too, fun bartenders and seriously good cocktails. BUT!!! Food was awful! Most of our ordered dishes were too salty; rest of it just wasn’t worth the money. Service wasn’t great either, we had to eat our sushi rolls over the bones on our plates from first course, no one changed the plates.

I booked Kyashii for a birthday meal on a Saturday and was disappointed to get a confirmation that we only had a 2hr slot. Very bad considering the booking was for half past 8.
I had vouchers which i had paid for so had to rebook so went on a Monday night instead.
The food was quite good. We had a taster menu. Was glad I had only paid the voucher price though. It did not warrant £70 per person.
The staff cleared the table far too quickly taking empty plates away before each course was done. The wine glass came with less than a third of it filled with wine.
The cocktails were good especially if you went in Happy Hour - 2 for 1 of the same drink.
I wouldn't go again which is a shame. It could be so good.

Kyashii is a nice little haven from chaos of Covent Garden. The décor is nice with the aquariums and sleek lines. We went for the kaiseki menu as part of the Groupon deal. The starters of edamame, spare ribs, squid were good, with a slant towards Chinese rather than Japanese, whilst the the vegetable sushi rolls and mains of lamb and salmon were good rather inspiring. The service overall was extremely good though you did feel that they were rushing you through. I would not have spent £70 per person for the listed price with a cocktail, and even the £25 was okay value rather than great.
