Terra was recommended to me by a colleague familiar with this area of London. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and inviting. Our waiter took time to describe the various meals to us and make recommendations for drinks, and not just the expensive drinks. Our food was delicious and was accompanied by a personal story about the chef, which just added to unique atmosphere. Best of all, the prices for foods and drinks were very reasonable.

We have been to Terra on two previous occasions with group bookings of around 14 people. Each time everyone in the group has not had a bad thing to say about the restaurant.

The food and service has always been excellent. Often with group bookings there is someone who didn't like their food...but not at Terra.

We tried another restaurant last week for our Christmas meal and we were let down massively. (Despite the booking being made in advance they told us they had no food left from their Christmas menu!).

Deciding not to stay I called Terra and at very short notice they were able to fit us in and again delivered an excellent meal with great service.

I have not written a review before but feel this place deserves the credit.

Keep up the good work guys, I'm sure we will be back.

We returned to Terra for the first time this weekend since its re-opening. Over the past few years we have been regular visitors to the restaurant always finding the food, service and value for money to be excellent. Given that there has been a change of management we were sincerely hoping that these high standards had not declined.

Thankfully we were not disappointed. Starters of spicy meatballs and a smoked duck salad were full of flavour. Mains of tagliatelle with prosciutto and the chef's signature dish of jack's steak (sirloin stuffed with feta) were both delicious and generously portioned. Prices have remained highly competitive and the value was only increased by their free bottle of wine offer.

Service was attentive, friendly and efficient - everything we have come to expect from this little gem of a restaurant. We'd certainly recommend it for a romantic meal for two and equally for groups.

My friend and I went to Terra on Wednesday late night. It was 9pm ish as we went there after watching a film at nearby cinema.

Despite our late arrival and only few customers in the restaurant, they were very friendly and treated us as if we were VIP customers - as they always have been in the previous visits.

I don't usually leave reviews at all though I feel I must do it as the main course I had - Chicken with Chianti, was the best meal I have had in the restaurants for years!!!

I would difinately return Terra very soon!

Went on a tue evening late June. Initially very quiet there it did fill up and have quite a lively atmosphere by the time we were leaving . The food itself was very nice , I had whitebait followed by the pork medallion and my friend had the meatballs also followed by the pork . We enjoyed it and the portions were pretty generous . Inc a glass of wine and 2 coffess it came to a touch under £50 so pretty good value . The only slight downpoint was no desserts depite there being a dessert board up , it would have been nice as they sounded pretty good . Service was friendly and helpful , decor maybe a touch on the dull brown side but all in all a nice evening out . I don't get to London much and thought this probably would not be my first choice next time it would be in consideration .

Terra has got to be the best value restaurant in London. 10 minutes walk from Oxford Street, Oxford Circus station. I discovered it by chance, en route to meet a friend at the University of Westminster.

I have now been twice in the last six weeks, both times after a hard days shopping at Selfridges.

I had the homemade soup both times and the homemade bread that accompanies it, was delicious, served with olive oil and vinegar.

For a main, I had the swordfish special, large perfectly cooked swordfish steaks server with salad at my request. My friend had something even more substantial, the Escalope Montenegro. In following the link to the website from this page to check the spelling from the menu, I noticed they have pictures of all the main courses and starters. Certainly it looked the same, if not better, in person as it does in the pictures.

I heartily concur with the other reviews on London Eating and I was glad to discover it and then read other like minded people whom agreed with me.

Go and Enjoy!

I visited Terra on Thursday night to catch up with some old friends, having chosen it because of its good reviews and location. I'm pleased to say we were not disappointed.

Staff were exceptionally friendly right from booking the table to the actual evening itself, without being overbearing or too 'matey'. Described as a mediterranean restaurant, the menu was not long but quite varied with grills, pasta or risottos available. The food was freshly prepared and well presented and everyone was satisfied with their choices.

The cost was very reasonable, with the bill coming to just £88 (exc. service) for two courses each for four people and two bottles of house white.

Perhaps its busier at weekends as there were only a few other tables occupied on the evening we visited which is a shame as this is definitely a good fail-safe option in the area and a restaurant that deserves to survive. Recommended.

I have eaten at Terra numerous times and every time staff and the seasonal menu made my visit unforgettable. Last time I went to Terra, yet for another friend’s birthday party, two weeks ago and enjoyed it enormously! The atmosphere was fantastic and the food and its presentation was scrumptious! I will definitely be back soon with more friends!

My husband and I have eaten here twice and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great food - especially the home-made baklava and profiteroles - and attentive and friendly service. Reasonbly priced, too. We went late afternoon both times (pre-show dinner) and it was pretty empty which seems a shame but guess it's a bit early for most people.
