Very disappointing. Bad service. Greasy pizzas.

I have eaten at this restaurant before with friends and the food was okay - the pizzas are different to your usual. Unfortunately they discriminate against lone diners. I tried returning to this restaurant yesterday because I felt like a pizza for lunch. I was greeted by a waiter (although he does look like the manager) and confirmed it was a table for one, a couple arrived and he immediately greeted them (they didn't have a booking either) and showed them to their table. I was left standing and he returned after a while to tell me they have a lot of bookings and couldn't serve me - the restaurant was more than half empty at 12:40 and how long was I really going to take to eat a pizza alone by myself? What a shame, I work nearby and go to a restaurant almost everyday but this place will definitely not be getting my business and I'm making sure all my friends know about this.

Seriously dreadful I'm afraid. The pizzas are extremely second-rate and the service was dire. I'd been to the larger branch in Covent Garden and had a rotten time there, so should've learnt my lesson. I didn't and got shafted for a second time. I'm not going to make it 3rd time lucky and if you read this review, don't bother either. Fire & Stone should throw the towel in now!!

Fire & Stone hhhmmm I was thinking where the name is from?Of course I found out as soon as I walked in. They use a huge owen to cook their pizzas which is half wooden half gas (found out later from our waiter). The smell of the fresh burning wood and our delicious pizzas were just perfect.

We tried the pizza called New York with potatoes on it (potatoes on piza? YESSSS) and my partner liked soo much her vegetarian Cairo with lots of roasted vegetables on it and topped with melting goat cheese.

To have a sweet finish we shared an amazing waffle.

Normally I`m not happy to pay for automatically added service charge on my bill but because we had a great time it was worth for it.

Can`t wait to return especially on those days when Spitalfield market is full of their buzzy stall holders, always good to have a walk around and check out fashion clothes or vintage staff.
