Lonsdale

I went last night and the atmosphere was fantastic. The ceiling is low but there is a central dome in the celing that absorbs noise so it can be packed and you can still have great conversation without it being too noisy. My friend is paralysed and in a wheelchair and the staff were really cool and helpful. Great food.

Would recommend for Valentines' day....food expensive ...but your worth it.

best restaurant i have been to in ages. the food is great, staff are friendly (and attractive!) and the vibe is perfect for a good, glamorous night out.. I will definately be coming here again soon..

Great expereince all round. Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent value for money. Took my girlfriend there for dinner and we both had a great time.

Visited the Lonsdale after recommendations from friends. I wasn't disappointed. Excellent service, friendly atmosphere and stylish decor. They had clearly put thought into their vegetarian dishes, (the risotto I can particularly recommend) and my partner thoroughly enjoyed his unusual starter of Pigeon breast! This is a great place to have a chilled dinner, I will definitely revisit and recommend!

I was the 30th december and NYE 2005. Was fantastic; the food, the people, PPRR, etc. Unfortunately I`m back in Spain but I`ll come back ASAP. Lonsdale is one of my favourites places in wholw world. Brave!

I went to Lonsdale last night and i had a fabulous time. The waitress' were very friendly and alert, the food was fantastic, i especially like that the dishes were a perfect size for me, and the variety of dishes was fab as well.

I would recommend this restaurant to my friends, the atmosphere in the restaurant was great, really enjoyed myself. the pudding was amazing... especially the sticky toffee pudding and buterscotch ice cream.

The food at the Lonsdale is very good - well cooked, imaginative and tasty. Unfortunately that's where the good points end.

The Lonsdale really needs to decide if it is a bar or an eatery. The dining room is no more than an extension of the main bar area which means you get the full force of the increasing music volume, of people's smoke and of the hassled waiting staff.

All the food has to come from the kitchen, through a crowd at the bar to the table (that was good planning...) and we were rushed through our dinner as the table was needed again for 9:30 (although this wasn't mentioned on the phone).

It's a shame that the restaurant just isn't thought through well enough to make it somewhere I'd want to eat again as the food was genuinely well done.
