I went to the tree house on saturday (16/08/08) with my girlfriend, her sister and nieces. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised at the wonderful garden at the rear, so we sat outside. The staff were very friendly and even made us our lunch before the "official" time. Over all i really liked the experience and im looking forward to our net visit to barnes so that we can go again!!!

Some very mixed reviews on here. I dined at The Treehouse on Satuday night and had a wonderful evening.
The dandelion salad starter was amazing, my wife had a very nice parfait.
We shared a Lamb main course which was perfectly cooked, nice and pink.
The atmosphere was nice and buzzy with attentive service from the friendly staff.
We will be back

As a local, I have been to the Treehouse maybe 10 times. I went last night and it's a different place. It took our food 45mn to arrive. Plates were removed without a single word from the waitress. The waiter was pulling faces behind clients' back. Paying £10.95 for 8 gnocchi is beyond overpriced. And I only had once glass of wine (in case I am accused of drinking too much wine). I didn't have the courage to wait another 45mn for pudding. I don't think I will go back to the Treehouse.

the last review was utter rubbish.
It doesn't cost £90 for a meal for two and the food is very good as is the service.
Perhaps the reviewer was in a different location altogether and had drunk too much wine???

I cannot believe the comments on this restaurant,as a local I have been to the Treehouse maybe 8 times , in the last 2 years the food has got steadily worse. 'Thai' fish cakes consisting of potato chilli & a bit of fish is one of the many examples I have of dishes I've ordered. The menu is savagely overpriced ,if I want to spend £90/£100 for 2 people I can think of some seriously good restaurants in the west end.

Where to begin. In all honesty I can't praise this restaurant highly enough. I stumbled upon this place as a local a few years back and even now that I don’t live anywhere near it anymore, I still make a point to visit it at every opportunity, it really is that good. I must have tried pretty much everything on the menu and have never once been disappointed. It really doesn’t matter what the occasion this place genuinely caters for all, although the general ambience would make this place a particularly good first date venue as after eating any of the variety of great dishes, you can stumble upstairs and continue your conversation in the comfy leather chairs whilst sitting under the romantic fairy lights with eclectic yet mellow music playing in the background. I would highly recommend this to anyone caught in two minds about where to go.

I just had to write a new review for the Treehouse as we went back to this restaurant on Sunday evening and the service couldn't have been more different - it was absolutely fantastic. We warned the friends we were taking that the meal was likely to take forever but they didn't know what we were talking about. Smiling, quick and helpful waitresses made sure we had a lovely evening. The food was of the same high standard as before so we'll definitely go again.

The decor here is lovely and there is a cosy feel to proceedings. The food is not cheap (roughly 7 for starters, 13 for mains) but it is extremely good. I went with three friends and we all had bread and then mains, and each one of our four mains - from roast beef to swordfish to fish cakes to tuna - was delicious. The only place to produce gastropub style food in London as good as this is the Atlas in Earls Court. The only problem here is the service. It's not that it was unfriendly, it was just so slow and grabbing a waitress' attention was always tricky. That said one of the waitresses was very friendly and helpfully recommended local pubs to us so it wasn't all bad. We have already decided to come back here in the summer and eat in the nice looking beer garden out back.

We had a table for 2 nestle at the back of the ground floor. The bread and herb oil was delicious, as was my steak (cooked to perfection). The chocolate cake is also recommended.
The decor is slightly eclectic but works well. The restaurant has a very good atmosphere.

Really good food, involving lots of interesting combinations as well as the standards. But the service is sometimes appallingly slow - such that I once left after 2 hours because I had only had a starter - and it is quite pricey.
