Very disappointed, being big foodies we travelled all the way from Essex as it seemed like it had good reviews. The mango lassi was very nice as it was made from fresh mango as opposed to tinned mango puree. The chicken starter had no flavour and the baked bhaji tasted like a tesco bean burger (without the horse meat of course!)

The main course was even worse; the paneer tasted like it been there for days and chana again no flavour. We asked the chef to make it extra hot; all he did was throw in a few chillis! With good indian food you should be able to taste the flavours of the main ingredients.

So we never ate these dishes and the waiter took them off the bill. But never asked if he could fix anything for us! The service was erratic and the waiters knowledge on the menu was poor - for instance they weren't able to genuinely recommend anything. We waited ages before someone noticed we had finished. And most importantly there was no friendly service from them. This restaurant doesnt serve real indian food and i would never recomend it to friends and family.

Ok...have eaten here loads of times and am usually really impressed.. But have just had the most disgusting takeaway and have been told the old chef has left. Anyone who has eaten here before will know how amazing and fresh the food was and now it is like some bog standard run of the mill high street curry house.... get the chef back or train one up quick...please.

Let's get the good bit up front - the food is delicious. It is unusual but beautifully prepared and presented.

However, the location has, in many different guises, always been sad and grim, and it remains so. Dark and dingy, even on a nice summer evening. The staff are not proficient English speakers and seem undertrained - not looking around the room to check that everyone is OK, forgetting to do what they say they will, and slow, slow, slow (except to gossip among themselves): no energy or enthusiasm.

My suggestion is to have the take-away from the Barnes branch. But I would like to try the one in Hammersmith, which may have more charm.

We had heard alot about this Indian Restaurant, but it did not live up to expectations at all. The place itself is well done out, lovely linen and cutlery, but the service was at best numerous in number but incompetent. The food was not sensational and the flavors were not unusual. To the question 'would we go back?' the answer is No.

This was the best Indian Restaurant I have been to in London.

The staff made us very welcome and were very friendly and attentive.

The food was superb, I can recommend the Vegetable Bhanavla (onion bhaji) which was sensational.

There were so many delicious looking things on the menu that I found it hard to choose - it was so good that I asked for the menu back so that I could plan what I was going to have on my next visit!

Really nice setting, we visited on a Tuesday night and it was the perfect relaxing place to go after a busy day at work.

I first of all want to thank the Zilla team as they made me feel as if am in Oberoi. Food and Service is just top class, not less than a 5* delux hotel which implies lovely atmosphere with excellent food and awesome service standards.

I am living in london for a while, but this is the first time i have had a proper Indian cusine with all traditional values, for e.g the Karwari and the Malabar - tastes so authentic which my Grand ma use to make. I'll definitely be back to try the rest of the dishes which hopefully will burn my taste buds. Thanks and see you soon :)

Haven't been for an Indian for a few months and was passing by last evening. Very impressed. Food great and generous portions. Attentive staff. Altogether a lovely experience and a great evening. Recommended. Good indian restaurants are hard to find in my neck of the woods. I will definitely be returning to this one.

it was my 4th visit to the new venture of chef Manoj, and i just wanted to tell that the restaurant now has started rolling on the right track. in my previous visits some times service standards were not followed or the food was late but i kept on coming because of the delicious food. this time i went on a busy Friday but everything was perfect. The waiters were much much more professionals very good to talk especially in that Indian accent. they were much more organised not flying like hive of bees all over the restaurant which happened in my previous visits. in this visit i gotta feeling that these people are learning from there previous experiences and making the restaurant a much better dining place.

well done to the staff keep performing better

I went with my team from work. We were a group of 11 and everything was fantastic! The food was amazing, quick and all arrived at the same time. The service was attentive, but largely unnoticed - which I like! When we needed something they were there... otherwise we were left alone.... Nice decor and a great experience... Not cheap, but not too expensive...
